any advise would be greatly appreciated, we are going to peru and i have some gold and silver cions, no bars (which i am aware they dont allow in the country) did anyone do this before? please share your experience

All countries have cross border restrictions on Negotiable carry across money, bonds, cashier's check's, Gold, Silver, and securities. Check with your local $ changer, like Deak Perara and the like, they keep up on this stuff, last I knew, between US and Canada the limit was $ 10, 000 US. Never cheat on the amounts, you risk getting tagged as a "forced entry" and will be sent to the poke and probe room for ever after. For now, between here and there, about 8 one ounce coins in your pocket should not be a problem. Why do it at all, why not just buy the Gold in the country where it will reside, and where you will have full legal posession? M |
