RussiaToday is like a Russian "cnn headline news" and streams in hour blocks. Very good news source in English and its viewable on Linux (MPlayer/VLC Player) Mac (VLC Player), and Windows (WindowsMediaPlayer) http://www.russiatoday.com/en VLC Player - open source media player http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ |

Novosti
I also recommend reading Novosti, its a well-done, modern looking news portal from official Russian news service. Easy to read, gives you news on iran/military/venezuela not covered in the US. http://en.rian.ru/ |
