Default Does anybody know anything about this?

I wonder if anybody has any more info on this site and what it's about?

The Rainbow Family of Living Light, sometimes known as the "Rainbow Tribe", is an international loose affiliation of individuals who have a common goal of trying to achieve peace and love on Earth.

Those who participate in, or sympathize with, the activities of this movement sometimes refer to the circle simply as the "Family". The words: Rainbow Family in the longer title are a reference to the families inclusiveness of all colors, classes, races and creeds. The use of the phrase: Living Light in the longer title is a reference to "living lightly", or living with little mass or impact on the environment.

Some rainbow family participants make the claim that the family is the "largest non-organization of non-members in the world". In addition to referring to itself as a non-organization, the Rainbow Family of Living Light's "non-members" also playfully call the movement a "disorganization".

I think I remember Freeman of The Freeman Perspective told a story of going to a gathering that had all kinds of weird weather modification thrown at it to disrupt things. Maybe the large number of participants keeps the group on the radar of the ptb.

This woman/lawyer called constance cumbey wrote a book called "The hidden dangers of the rainbow";i don't know whether or not she's referring to this group of people or it maybe a general referral to the "New age movement", she's totally against anything that's mystical or has a potential to provide new ways of spiritual thinking.I feel she's probably a very good person but what i tend to find is the indoctrination that accompanies religious orders tends to blinker people's potential and vision-it's al in your heart-the BIBLE is what it says Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth-a good moral code.
This is a conference lecture cumbey did-you may get her vibe regarding holistic stuff here:

Thanks, and the reason I was wondering about them is because a friend told me they might have a gathering in Ocala National Forest, Ocala, FL. Which is where I always went camping when I was in Florida. And if it was the right time I might check it out!

i have been to many rainbow gatherings...

they are beautiful people! beautiful souls!

spent allot of time with them., and i still have a few that i see often.

But many of them dont have "real homes".. such as a house or apt.

There is some darkness that goes on behind the scenes.. but i think youll get that with any massive amount of people.

cant let the few bad ruin all the good.

but for the most part....

they are in the mindset that i believe everyone needs to be in in order to kick this system to the curb, and if we want to carry on. ...

simple, loving, brotherly/sisterly, humble, family.

(p.s.. want to know how cool these people are?... One of the guys i still hang out with sometimes, that i met through the family... is about 30-33 years old.. and his given birth name.. is Freedom!!!...lol, no joke. I love him. lol
I know another girl from the family and her given birth name is "Honor"! .

i have to agree with orion. i have a young friend who regularly attends rainbow gatherings. he is a groovy young man with the right attitude to survive in the coming world. he has simple tastes and is a gentle soul. i am always eager to hear his reports of the gatherings so that i can enjoy vicariously.
the rainbow family, like any others has all kinds of people, but generally, the philosophy and practises are positive. apparently some gatherings will attract many thousands of people to remote locations. when the site is cleaned up, the footprint is negligible.

Blessings Dan,

There was an Ocala gathering in February. It is not an official Rainbow Gathering, just a lot of Rainbow people gathering for a winter get together.

There are probably still some people hanging out there now. Many of the camping spots were free years ago in the Ocala National Forest; that has changed and there is an on-your-honor-box to pay nightly fees now. (Or there was about two years ago when I went through there.) I picked up a hitch hiker (rainbow person) and he told me where to camp for free the next night in an unofficial area where they normally don't bother you, although there were gators in the vicinity. I was in a motorhome, not a tent and kept a very close eye on my dog.

We nearly had a run in there with a gator that was lurking in the water nearby a boat ramp about 15 years ago in Half Moon Lake, before I realized how many gators were in the area.

Do you ever go to Juniper Run (Juniper Springs River) rest area on Highway 41 North of Highway 19, a great place to swim on the public side of the river across from Ocala National Park. You can have a dog in the water (springs/river) on that side. You can also let your dog in the water at Buck Lake (gators there too), but not in the springs in the park.

I don't think they have announced the park for the July 4th Rainbow Gathering yet.

P a L

HaHa yeah Buck Lake is where we always went for years and years! That was our camping spot, and there was a little tiny lake nearby that you could actually walk to through the woods and go swimming in it, but you couldn't camp there. We would even camp at Buck Lake during thanksgiving for four days and do a turkey on the grill, ah the good old days!
We never went to Juniper Springs, but I've heard of it, but the whole Ocala forest was our 4x4 area. We would go forever on some of those trails and just get lost in the woods all day and have a blast.
