It was a gorgeous fall day in Massachusetts. The time and date will be forever stamped in my head. September 20th/, 2008. 12:45 p.m. (about a month and a half ago...)
I was lying in my hammock, reveling in the 70 degree warmth of the afternoon. The sky was so crystal clear, such a beautiful blue, and I was enjoying it to the fullest. Now, I'm not a religious person, I don't know how to meditate, but I do believe in a higher being, a divine creator, however you'd like to name it. (I'm not sure it even can be put into words or a label...) Most of all, I truly, utterly and completely, appreciate nature and all it's splendors. I have even been known to cry at the beauty of a butterfly on a blade of grass...Corny, maybe, but true. So, I'm lying in my hammock, looking as deep into the sky as I possibly can, not a cloud to be seen, just an occasional Blue Jay or plane. (It is of importance to note that the few planes that day had really thin, thin vapor trails coming off them, but they immediately dispersed in the atmosphere.) As I'm looking up, I found myself hoping to see something really unique and out-of-the-ordinary before my eyes in the sky. 'Wouldn't it be crazy if something indescribable happened by?' So I say (to myself, in my head) to the powers that be, "Please show me something special. I'll close my eyes, and when I count down from 10 to 1, I'll open my eyes and it'll be right there in front of me, in the sky." So I did this, like, 3 times and nothing happened of course!! So I said to myself "I guess I'm just not one of those people that can wish for it, and voila, it appears. Oh well." Just as I finished that thought, my 8 year old son came into the backyard, and proceeded to lay down on the hammock with me. After a few moments of silence letting him revel in the gorgeous day, I said to him "Maybe you can help me. I'm trying to ask to see something really unique in the sky. Wouldn't it be cool if we saw 'something'?" (Now, he knows I have an interest in the UFO phenomenon, and assume he 'knows what I mean' by that.) He agrees nonchalantly. So, I tell him how I've been trying to summons "it". So we close our eyes, count down from 10, I get to 3 and he says "I didn't do it, mummy. I didn't concentrate." So I say "Okay", and before I can say anything else he says aloud "Dear God, (a word I hadn't even used while asking) please show us a UFO (another word I hadn't used)." My son started at 5 and counted down, and when we opened our eyes... I jumped off the hammock, almost dumping my son to the ground! "Do you see it??" I was freaking. Shouting! Squealing! Right there, in front of my eyes when I opened them (like I had originally asked) was a star-like, stationary, 'something'. "Do you SEE it?!?" I repeated. "No...." my son said. I had to orient him with the tree line, and if you've ever tried to point something out to a child it usually takes them a while to grasp the location. After a few seconds of that, "I see it. I see it!!", he shouted. This moment was so surreal. There 'it' was. We asked, and it came! A brilliant, beautiful light, that just stayed there motionless, for us to observe. "Go get the binoculars!" My son ran inside so fast...I refused to take my eyes off it! I observed this anomaly through the binoculars and it was reflecting every color of the rainbow off of it. Just shining immensely. Like a prism in the sun. The sun was behind us, and the 'object' was in the North sky. It was almost diamond or tear-drop shaped. Totally still in the sky, but quite far away. A few miles, at least. And this is why I never thought to get a camera. I just knew, because of it's distance, that it would just look a blob on film and not do it any justice. We called for my husband (who is such a skeptic and non-believer of anything inexplicable), to come out and observe. After many shouts to the house, he finally came sauntering out with a "what now?" demeanor. "Look!!" As soon as he came into the yard, it started moving, slower than I've ever seen anything in the sky move. Sooooo sloooooow. Away and to the left of us (East). My husband observed it through the binoculars, and had no ready explanation for it. Usually he'd be like, 'it's a this or that'. But not today! In fact, as the 'object' went out of our view, it was my husband hogging the binoculars, climbing onto the deck, to get every last look at it. Then it was gone into the tree line...This lasted a good 8 minutes from beginning to end. Now I'm not claiming we saw a UFO. I just can't believe that my son and I asked to see something 'special' and lo' and behold, we did! That's what makes this experience so memorable and meaningful for me. I'm just an average person, with an open mind, and an appreciation of the earth, the universe, and any dimensions in between. Maybe my son is one of those people that can summons a UFO, or whatever you like to call it, on command. I'm not about to re-test him just yet, though. This time was exciting enough for now, for him! Important notes: I filed a report (my first ever) with MUFON, and became a member right away. Also, within days after the sighting I had very realistic dreams (natural disasters, nuclear war...) that lasted a few weeks and had such an impact on me upon wakening in the morning. I never put 2 and 2 together, that maybe the 2 are related until just recently. Who knows if they're related. The dreams have now sub-sided, thank goodness, because they were terrible! (Luckily my son hadn't had any of these dreams that he could recall. Of course I asked him.) I certainly will never forget that day in September. I'm definitely a believer in "something" I just can't put my finger on it or give it a label. It's a mystery to me.... |

Amazing.
Perhaps rather than trying now to nail a correlation tween this and any other odd experience that comes along, let that work itself out over time. "Hold it a fashion and a toy in blood, A violet in the youth of primy nature" (sorry, Hamlet just came to me). Your son; without hitting it too hard, how is he taking this in? Any talk of trying it again, from him? Fred

Thanks for your reply, Fredkc...
I agree with not reading into it too much. It didn't even occur to me until many weeks later that perhaps the sighting and the dreams correlated, only because I had read of others having sightings and then experiencing intuitive dreams, or a great affinity for the earth... As for my son. It's weird, because it didn't even really seem to phase him! He doesn't act like it's this big deal. Which, I think, mirrors how someone who isn't conditioned to think these things aren't real would think! He is being raised by my very open-mindedness, which doesn't readily explain things away- and also by a skeptical dad, who helps him keep things in perspective at the same time. So, I think he's very level-headed about it. Actually, I think I will ask him that someone is inquiring about his take on it...Hold on... He says that it could have been anything: a space-craft, a shiny metailic balloon (but balloons don't really stay motionless, mom.) He hasn't come to any conclusions either! So maybe when the timing seems right and we feel like venturing out into the backyard, we will try again. Not yet, though. Because if it was something we asked for, I sure don't want to take advantage! |

Hi Karmakah,
Great story of that happening and thanks for sharing! We are nearby one another. I have had some wild and wonderful things happen to me the last couple of years on this "sacred" indian hill I live on. It is an old burial ground and living area of the Nipmuc. It is now fully developed and I have lived in the oldest farm house here on the hill for the last 5 years. I tried to send you and your son and husband a private mail ... but it did not go through. Times they are a changin'...and rather energetically now : ) Onward and Upward! We ARE The Ones We Have Been Waiting For! |

I think that's a great little experience with your family;it goes to show if you wish for something sincerely enough it will manifest.

What a wonderful experience! (except for the dreams)
"We Asked...It Came" is why the CSETI project works. Working in groups and purity of intent are keys to a successful interaction. The ETs are very considerate and won't show you more than you are ready for. Anyone can do this. As for the dreams ... I don't know what they mean. Just keep in mind that you have friends in high places. They can help, but only if asked. Last edited by Jnana; 11-12-2008 at 03:59 AM. |

Thanks to all who have replied to my post:
eaglespirit, I was about to make a new post the morning you replied asking if there were any Avalon members in New England...sounds like you live in an interesting area! Jnana, I agree that if one has the best of intentions, and are genuine and ready, it can happen to anyone. I am so thankful for my experience. The trouble I have is not knowing to do with the answers I receive. Do nothing? Try and communicate more? Maybe when I'm 'ready' to respond then I will instinctively have the answer to know what to do? Who knows... Thanks again, all. Peace... |

C77, I truly hope you're right in stating that I (or atleast my son) has the ability to call upon these crafts using meditation. What else do you know about doing this? Any tips? You say they will most likely continue, and I hope they do. What makes you so sure that they will? Are you able to do it yourself? Do tell. Do tell!

Indeed, Antaletriangle it was a great experience, although it seems as though I'm the only one amongst us there that day who still thinks/talks about it. My son, 8, wasn't even phased by it, and my husband has "forgotten" about it altogether. There are really very few of our friends and family that I have shared the experience with. I think more strangers know about it than acquaintances do! For me it was certainly a nice experience! I am looking forward to trying it again in the near future.
