ahh you seen that did you, no worries it was just some random webguest### trying to stir a pot o mischief, its all good though it was easy enough to spot and just make a joke about to deflect its original intent.

We had allot of that in the chat, randon anon people floating in trying to disrupt the live chat. It settled down when the chat creator made it so that you had to type in a Name to be able to chat on the board.
The barking dogs were muffeled to a large degree.

Its a fun ride all the same

Yep.. some souls were definitely 'on a mission' in there yesterday..

I guess the chat room can only reflect the souls that are in there. But there was quite a lot of niggling going on.

Anger can be released a lot quicker when the communication mode is faster. I could feel it bristling in there yesterday.

But I've been there other times when it's been great fun. I think it's a wonderful tool.

I once played this online game (the only one I've tried) called Nightfall... and there was this big plaza and you could just walk around it talking to other characters, and each character was a real person behind a computer somewhere.

It would be great if we could have a real Avalon...with ruins and everything.. and just wander around it, talking to the other members ! Don't need to do any playing.. but the chat interface in a virtual 3d environment is supercool!

Ah, that is good news. I was wondering what was up with all those Webguests ?! Sure, I can understand that people log in that way by accident, but after repeated asking of who they were or suggestions to change their name, they just ignored and kept posting vitriol... I think that's very disruptive..gosh, you can see why you need moderation!

Please explain yourself because there are many that are confused, just a sentence, to identify the rules under which we may now express ourselves?

Gladly, the security bots on the network watch for spam amongst other things. IRC is prone to spammers and the measures in place ensure a fairly hassle free chatroom. A classic example of a spam bot is one that connects, joins a channel, posts a link and quits. that behaviour will usually trigger a automated response. These measures ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our members.

Well, I had a few guests visiting who were in the chatroom a while ago and when I just went there, it said my IP was banned!

I have no idea why.

For the moment anyone can join, it may be tied to Avalon's membership in the future.

I have been told by someone that a person is using the name Pilgrim in the chatroom.
That person is not me.., I don't use the chatroom as I type very slowly and have no interest in 'chat'.
So., if that person says anything derogatory or contoversial...For the record, it ain't me!
