'Several killed' in Italy quake

This is a very true and tragical truth...this is what I've seen on the TV or heard on the radio:

As of the last update at 14:20 on the RAI TV channels, 93 lifeless bodies (accounts keep increasing at a rate of about 10/30 min) have been extracted from the rubble of buildings in various of the 26 towns involved; hundreds of people are still missing. Some small alpine towns have been leveled by the quake. At least 15,000 buildings are in danger of falling due to the onging aftershocks that range from 2-5 magnitude Mercalli. Around 80,000 people are at the moment homeless, evacuated from their damaged homes. Two hospitals had to be evacuated because of damage to their structures. The main super highway to and from the area towards Rome is closed and not transitable, not even for rescue teams, because of fallen bridges, landslides and sinkholes. Even the Command Civil Protection crews, who's headquarters is in Lombardy, have not been able to get into the area yet, though they were dispatched immediately. Local people are attempting to get to any survivers any way they can: with backhoes, with their bare hands. Local rescue teams are setting up tents, mess camps, mobile hospitals with materials brought in by helicopter. The Red Cross is calling for blood donors, but are asking people who want to join the rescue efforts to get in contact with established rescue organizations and not to try to enter the disaster area. Some military troops are already in the area.

A Nuclear Physics Researcher who lives near L'Aquila, Gianpaolo Giuliano, had allerted the Civil Protection Authorities last week of an eminent devastating earthquake basing his predictions on his measurements of the emmisions of the gas Radon that he has been recording for some time. His predictions and theories were ignored and laughed at. In an telephone interview on today's 14:20 TGRegional "Leonardo" RAI TV, he expressed his anger and desperation that this event did arrive as he had calculated, but no one had believed him. He was evidently in shock, his voice choking back the sobs, and stated that now, he had decided not to talk to anyone else about his attempts to warn the necessary compitent authorities, which he will soon take to court. "I don't want this blood on my hands", he said.

My girlfirend gets a newsletter that is a channeled message from Saint Katherine every month. As I watched the news this morning , I saw the script at the bottom about an earthquake in Italy, and I remember that I read about the channeled message of an earthquake to happen in Italy about 4 months ago. Then as the script on the TV went on I was waiting to hear where at in Italy. And then it was comfirmed it was in the mountains of Italy which is exactly what Saint Katherine predicted, IN THE MOUNTIANS. Thank-you for your prayers and kind words, B and P. Although I have no relatives in the disaster area, I keep watching the tele which is reporting constantly on the situation.

Unfortunately, it is still pretty cold up there in those mountains (I'm in a different mountain range, but it's colder there); and it is now raining and in some places even hailing... and night will be falling soon. The area continues to be shaken by aftershocks.

The gov't is saying that they have the funds for the rescue teams and whatever...yet have asked for Catastrophy funds from the UE as well.

As of yet, I have not heard of any requests for other aid, except for blood donors.

Many people have lost all they ever had...and they have already arrested some heartless thieves (geezzz!).

I will keep the forum updated.

177. This is to be said of the coming quakes in Italy, which find their beginning at the end of November of this year and which will not end for a long time.

179. Before further major earthquakes will follow in Italy, there are still some other important and moving things for terrestrial mankind which have to be carried out around the world.

180. Thus, the earthquake disaster in Italy will still be on the lips of the Earth humans when the next event occurs, which will deeply move millions of people.

Italy Quakes

A major 6.3 quake struck central Italy after a moderate quake struck the northern part of the country last night.

As I had mentioned months ago, the African tectonic plate is moving north against the Mediterranean region and will cause major quakes and volcanic eruptions.

Quakes are also likely soon in Greece, Turkey, Spain, Portugal and France. I am even a bit concerned for Romania and Bulgaria.

Watch for Etna, Stromboli and Vesuvius to erupt.

Strange nobody has mentioned the depth of these quakes.
All over the world mysterious earthquakes at exactly 10km deep.
Can anyone explain this?

Latest update: 15:00 7 April,'09:

207 dead, 11 unidentified; 15 missing; 150 extracted alive from the rubble; 5,100 rescue workers; 20 "tent towns" have been set up to temporarily house 20,000 homeless who have nowhere else to go. Many are sleeping in their cars so that others less fortunate can stay in the tents. Many are trying to guard what remains of their homes from looters.

According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake struck at 01:32 GMT at a depth of 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) and with an epicentre approximately 95 kilometres (60 mi) north-east of Rome, close to L'Aquila. The city has experienced major earthquakes in the past, but nothing on this scale since 1703.

"The duration of ground shaking depends on where you are, if you're on a hard surface it ends pretty quickly, but if you're in a sedimentary built up valley, then it would last longer," said Sipkin.

Two smaller quakes (one at 4.8 on the Ritcher scale) had hit the region the day before, which weakened many buildings before the main earthquake hit. Smaller aftershocks, which frequently occur after a significant earthquake, are still continuing

Here's an article that says that the epicentre was 5 km under L'Aquila.

Another quake today. i know that it was felt further to the northeast than the one yesterday, as far as 200 km from the epicentre.
