Obama now targeting recreational fishing?
Obama now targeting recreational fishing?
Posted by Matt Hawes on 03/10/10 09:58 AM Seriously? Is there not one area left in which this adminstration is not willing to make people angry? Via ESPN: Quote:

The NWO/PTB are trying to kick there plans in high gear because they are
realizing people are waking up very quickly. It is too late know though too many people are awake and the cats out of the hat. |

Re: Obama now targeting recreational fishing?
This is nothing new, the truth is our oceans are being fished out. Captains on Fishing boats for years have been watching the "catch" shrinking dramatically.
Where there used to tanks full on the return trip now fit in a few coolers. I'm a fisherman but the question is by not fishing for a few years would that help the fish population return or would it be like the environmental issues. Where the US follows rules and other countries do the opposite and would take advantage of having our fishing fleets pulled back and fish our coasts even harder? there are a few billion fish lovers in China and they would welcome the oppor"tuna"ty to fish our waters. |

Re: Obama now targeting recreational fishing?
Commercial fishing in the Great Lakes is already restricted.
In Michigan our recreational fishing is well managed and overall the fishing is very good. We do need to do something about the asian carp though. We have the invasive species in the round goby, and zebra mussels that have caused some damage but the ecosystem is slowly adapting to them, among others. The Great Lakes is an issue for the Great Lakes states to deal with as they see fit. An aside, lakes Michigan/Huron is one lake not 2. Whom ever decided they are 2 separate lakes is an idiot. |

I just love how people paint Obama as the bogeyman.
The law is unenforceable anyway. The state governments will not have enough money to have someone patrolling lakes and streams, 24/7. Get a clue people. This is just baseless fear tactics. |

I agree. It's not a federal issue anyway. Should the Feds try such a thing Michigan in particular and the Great Lakes states in general will definitely have something to say about it. This is an issue that you will find the people of the Great Lakes states strongly united on, we take our lakes very seriously here. I am sure Canada will have something to say about it also. |
