well to me it isn't all gloom and doom, nor do I believe things like this are inevitable

it is a fact that many of the worlds sacred texts speak of a time such as these in which a great tribulation is to occur

are we not seeing this occur now?

will it get worse?

it will only get as bad as we allow

in fact we have the power to actually stop it NOW

yet we the people lack cohesion and leaders who are willing to be the front man for our cause

perhaps the time for leaders and followers is through

these doomsday prophecies are also accompanied by great and wonderful news once this tribulation is over, even "revelations" says so

we seem to only focus on the negative side of the story though as if we have an addiction to all the death and destruction

it doesn't have to be this way, unless we chose to be spectators and fail to participate for the greater good

buddhism, taoism, they ARE religions...

Ok.. so it is just a coincidence that you are in the majority of people in your geographic locations religion....

if you are born into a christian family in a christian location it is most likley that you will be a christian..

Wow... you didnt even answer my questions or acknowledge my points...

The creator is a english word that probably has nothing to do with the original meaning of god...

I am sure you have heard that when the bible was translated the word god's was changed to singular...

I am not sure how you can say that oneness or the universal center of energy is not also related to what the metaphorical meaning of the bible says.

As for buddhism, taoism (and for that matter confucianism) no, they are not really religions. They are all philosophy's that sprouted adherents.

I honestly do believe we have a part to play, each and every one of us worldwide

Unity is the only answer, yet we can't even begin to expect unity "out there" when we cannot even achieve it "in here".

What does it matter what religion you are, is it not incredible that despite all of our different backgrounds and religions we are still drawn here from all over the world discussing issues that no "fundamentalist" would be discussing anyway?

to focus and argue over our differences is a dead end and a damn shame when you cant see past them to account for all of our similarities

To squabble over an issue like "my god can beat up your god" in my eyes is a great example of why unity seems impossible, even for a ground crew who claim "enlightenment" and are above such petty things

what happened to tolerance, patience and the law of allowance?

I know I am on my high horse and probably sound arrogant as hell, but this religious war has to stop because it is literally tearing this forum apart

A while back we had one of the usual religious groups walking door to door... In this case the worker wanted to help save me and prepare by worshipping there particular brand of christianity... her reasoning was that the end is coming and I need to be prepared...

Well I asked her why would I wish to worship a god that is about to a) either destroy the world.. or b) sit idly by and let it happen?

You know... she had no answer for me...
