Xhaosis ... at risk of seeming a freak - i have to tell you that WINNING is not all that important to me .. not now and probably never has been!!!
The question is "winning what??" how important is it really?? I was a brilliant student all those years ago - i WON lots of things - to what end??? Did it make me a better person? Not at all - i was merely playing the game and winning within the parameters set by some other people who decided certain things were worth "winning" lol To decide if something is "worth" winning or not - you have to look at WHO is setting the bar. ![]() |

I apologize for not being clearer. Living without ego and being a God are mutually exclusive. The problem exists within exerting free will. One must return his free will to the Creator and admit he is not qualified to excersise it - asking for a suitable replacement. Then paradoxically, one becomes both humble and powerful. |

Ok, I will put it on A HIGH powered scale.. Winning=survival Gotta mow the grass in a couple mins. Ego gives value to yourself, who you are inside. I am not recommending thinking your godlike and everything you say is in essence the voice of God. That is a very unhealthy ego. Yet ego defines who you are or at least who you think you are. If your in a life and death situation let me reassure you will want your ego, active and working, for without it, you will lose, and die. DIEING Of course to someone else, I am sure that is value, for me it is opposite. Yet most healthy humans do not want to die. |

LOL I like the analogy of the cow before the slaughter house Arcora
Believe it or not i'm agreeing with you - but to truly be without ego - that cow would be happy with that outcome ( it lived the best life it was possible to live as a cow) - after all isnt that what we are fated to?? To try and resist our fate is letting ego get in the way . Or do we all hail the renegade cow and bust our way out of this corral now!!! lol |

EGO makes us intelligent beings.. Without a ego, we would have never had Spartans, Never had Scholars, never had scientists new discoveries innovation flat screen tv's, religions none of that would exist, or it would take much much longer to discover it, yet I still cannot figure out how Mankind would evolve without Their ego.. Well thanks Adama, good thread bud... ![]() ![]() |

However humans were created in the image of God and we have divinity within. We have a greater purpose which is to be with God. |

I do hear what you are saying Xhao
Nobody wants to die - yet we all know from birth thats exactly what we are going to do. Why is that SUCH a terror to us - our ego??? I dont know if its just me or whether its having children or what - but the whole dying thing has never been an issue with me ( i was supposed to have died already twice in my life according to modern medicine - not that i trust them one bit) - however since having children - my "ego" i guess has taken on the role of NOT wanting to blink out of existence just yet - not because "I "dont want to blink away but because I felt that i had a duty to at least get these 2 little souls on their own journey in this life. Truthfully there have been times in my life when i would truly rather slip out of this existence - but the thought that i have something meaningful to contribute has been the only thing keeping me here. Maybe that is the ego working in another way other than life death or winning. Its not something i expect accolades for - more like a "Chore" i have to do before i pass on. BTW - i truly thank everyone for this discussion - it has been truly inspiring for me - if theres one thing i like in people its passion and you lot have an abundance!! That can only be a good thing!!! |
