Then I would say this conversation is a catalyst for that realization. However, i would have to say that the catalyst is offering a different message, whatever that may be. In terms of my gut reaction to such a "philosophical notion" if it be true or not (even though it appears that it's being used only as an example to promote though, in which it most certainly has in a successful manner), is that it doesn't seem to fit my intrepretation of reality, so I would be naturally inclined to not follow through with further understanding/acceptance of the notion, but still take it into consideration, if that makes any sense.

P.S. I like your thinking Arcora :-p
