= One of the things I was told when I visited Hopi land in May 2007 was to start saving seeds. I was given Hopi corn which I have planted for 2 years now. I learned other things that I might share here on Avalon sometime. Remember the Hopi have made it thru several "Worlds" and I also suggest the book "THe Hopi Survival Kit" it has a section on the "Spirtual Ark" that is well worth reading. But remember get non-hybrid, not genetically modified seeds and know how to plant and harvest them. Also learn to dry and can or other methods of storage. You will need to know when to collect seeds from your plants. Learn which seeds to replant. Also label your stored seeds with their year so later you know and can plant different years together to strengthen the plants. Learn also what recipes you will use for your own grown food. SEEDS can be used: - to plantWhen planting and everything the Hopi sing and say prayers to their plants. Remember these are living things and give of themself for us and we in return take care of them and thier children (seeds). It is a beautiful symbiotic relationship. = = |
