![]() I see several threads about dealing with fear, and it's a motif that appears in many threads. I've responded with my own thoughts in several places, and find that I'm mostly repeating myself. I don't think for a second I can solve the problem of fear, just that as an old coot who's seen too much and done a lot and been dragged around the corner and down the alley once or twice, I think I've learned a thing or two. I'm betting I'm not the only one who can offer thoughts on dealing with fear. I'd be a liar if I said I have no fears. My attitude toward fear is that it is the result of attachment, or attachment to the wrong things. And it is ego-driven. I'm off to work and have no time right now to go into stuff I've already posted elsewhere. But we have several threads about fear...I wanted us to have one devoted to its remedies and antidotes. Let's not repeat our litanies of fears here. I'm already seeing that in thread after thread, and frankly I think it's great that people are expressing them. But here, let's talk about fear itself...False Evidence Appearing Real as some folks put it...can we tame it? How? What have others done to rise above fear? We all know it as a constant drone in the background, and know THEY are feeding it to us...HOW do people tune it out? Ever hear, "Stay out of the sun?" Well, the LIGHT is brightening. Avoid shadows.
