BAGHDAD (AP) — The war in Iraq was truly an American-only effort Saturday after Britain and Australia, the last of its international partners, pulled out.

An axis can't really be an axis with one. I think it used to be Iraq, N. Korea and Iran. Since Iraq was pounced on and N.Korea was delisted (both: Bush administration), that leaves Iran.
