Why did you join these forums?

It was recently stated to me by someone that the only reason why anyone joined these forums was to talk about subjects directly related to Project Camelot. Here is the quote

Everyone joined this forum to discuss our material, not to hear others showcase theirs.

I then stated that this was a big assumption.

So my question to all of you is, Why did you join? And also, Why are you still a subscribing member? Also, have you ever read the forum rules? If so, Do you think they should be modified to be congruent with the evolution of these forums since their creation?
