Wondering if anyone read this article from National Geographic (Jan, 2009 issue) ? In reality, the beauty of gold is quite dirty in terms of environmental destruction of gold mining and corresponding social, political issues. They use toxic mercury to separate gold from rock. In developing countries, corporations forcibly clear villages and benefiting from fewer regulations. It is just another commodity that drives human to keep harming our Mother Earth. Spiritually speaking, people are simply shifting sense of greed from one to another. Ironically, a photo of illegal miners from Ghana in the article reminds me Sitchin’s books. Where do we come from ? Have a good read about this article and think about the issues. Last edited by oceanblue; 01-27-2009 at 03:50 PM. |
