Excellent site for canning/freezing/drying
http://www.pickyourown.org//allaboutcanning.htm#drying I do believe we're going to see much more on self-sufficiency in the next year or so. alys |

Great site, alyscat.
Here's a handy gadget that can extend storage life when drying or refrigerating food. www.pump-n-seal.com This is an inexpensive manual version of the Tilia Food Saver and similar products. Probably not as easy to use but the price is right. I just received mine an hour ago and have yet to try it. Would like to hear from anyone who has used it . You can watch the video on the website. |

And for Canadians reading this post:
www.costco.ca offer MRE's, one week's supply per unit with heaters included. Located in the fine foods category. Free shipping whereas ordering from the U.S. would mean a hefty shipping fee. The box is quite heavy. |

There will also be information in the library on these topics. Thanks for the information to be passed along.
