Default Some Carl Jung.

From 'Memories, Dreams, Reflections'.
In October, while I was alone on a journey, I was suddenly seized by an overpowering vision: I saw a monstrous flood covering all the northern and low-lying lands between the North Sea and the Alps. When it came to Switzerland I saw that the mountains grew higher and higher to protect our country. I realised that a frightful catastrophe was in progress. I saw the mighty yellow waves, the floating rubble of civilization, and the drowned bodies of uncounted thousands. Then the whole sea turned to blood. This vision lasted about one hour. I was perplexed and nauseated, and ashamed of my weakness.

Two weeks passed; then the vision recurred, under the same conditions, even more vividly than before, and the blood was more emphasised. An inner voice spoke. "Look at it well; it is wholly real and will be so. You cannot doubt it." That winter someone asked me what I thought were the political prospects of the world in the near future. I replied that I had no thoughts on the matter, but that I saw rivers of blood.
These visions he had in 1913, and they continued until the outbreak of WW1.

I think it is important for Avalon to understand that the unconscious (particularly the collective) can be very specific with information and completely unspecific at the same time. With retrospect, it is easy to link these visions to the war. However, if Jung had taken Bill Deagle's approach, would he have not prophesied a major flood?

When it comes to prophesy and predictions it is important not to get too carried away with the information, because the details are merely symbols. As Jung also says, the 'Archetypes speak the language of high rhetoric, even of bombast'.

On another though similar note however, I am still absolutely struck by Hawkeye's predictions (published 11th/12th of August on Camelot). Most things have not happened but: First 10 days of October as shock period and Military operations in Pakistan. Are these predictions not impressive given their accuracy? Or do they just look good in retrospect?
