THE ROSHI JOURNAL April 2005 Vol 2 No. 4 Healing With Color
By Lynne Roberto The use of color has long been the realm of alternative practitioners such as energy healers and shamans who use stones and crystals or view auras to determine a person’s health. With the advances of techno medical health and the widespread use of computers and LED light glasses such as we see with the ROSHI instruments, we are finding new modern uses for the use of colors in light therapy. While there is cultural and symbolic belief systems in place about colors, our individual reactions can vary greatly from time to time and place to place, I believe our basic response to color is in our genetic makeup. Color can affect our moods, relationships, and well-being. Physical color in our environment can bring about a subconscious effect on mood, action and emotional states. This is led by our biological, physiological, psychological social and cultural factors in combination. In the United States, white is traditional for weddings but in China it is used for funerals. While red can mean passion and anger for us, it represents happiness and good luck in China. Marketing experts, designers, and psychologists have long studied the effect of color as a means to greater sales and also as a means of creating calm and healing. Light and color are used as a means of healing the auric body, and the physical body. It can be used to deepen meditation or as a tool to promote certain effects in the aura. Exposing skin to colored lights is a modality called Chroma Therapy. Color is the result of the frequency of light hitting and reflecting off an object. What we see forms the color spectrum known as the color wheel. A rainbow is a full spectrum, and includes the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors of the color wheel. A color wheel is the full spectrum bent into a circle. Colors either harmonize or contrast with each other. Looking at a color wheel can help us understand one colors relationship to other colors. Colors that are adjacent are harmonious. We speak of cool and warm colors as means of describing how they affect us. Magenta, red, orange, yellow and yellow-green are warm colors associated with excitement, happiness and comfort. When surrounded by their color, you can sense time passing a bit faster and these colors make things appear closer, or larger than life. They can elevate blood pressure, pulse and incite arousal even stimulating appetite as in the case of orange. Cool colors such as purples, violets, blues, cyan and sea greens are calming and generally give sensations of peace but can sometimes be associated with withdrawal and depression. Cool colors create a sense of distance and are associated with suppressing the appetite. Of course you may have your own values associated to colors depending again on your societal beliefs and past personal experiences. The full spectrum of color or the rainbow, which has at least seven colors, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, gives us the symbol of hope, diversity, and completeness. The colors are the same as the Chakras, the energy vortexes of the human body. Rainbows remind us to attend to all the aspects of our lives, with each color representing the many aspects of being, and the combined spectrum or rainbow forming the pure white light of transcendence and the Divine. Rainbows are often seen while the sun is shining after a rainfall. In order to see the prismatic effect, the sun, the observer's eyes and the center of the arc must be aligned. The rainbow appears in the part of the sky opposite the sun and is an arc of 180 degrees. The colors we see are caused by the refraction and reflection of rays from the sun on a sheet of water drops. Monochromatic light is refracted as it enters the sphere of the individual water drop, then is reflected from the drop's opposite side and is again refracted as it leaves the drop and passes into our sight. People all over the world have different beliefs about rainbows and they are documented in every tradition and religion as well. Many of the indigenous tribes around the world equate them to the bridge between the earth and the Divine. Whatever your background, almost everyone is appreciative of the magic, wonder, and beauty that rainbows represent when they appear. I would like to give you my basic healer’s working knowledge of the beneficial uses of color therapy since this may help explain why some clients react so strongly to the lights in the ROSHI LED goggles. I believe Color vibration creates a clear and direct resonance effect on the energy-body and the mind, body, and spirit. . -Peggy Jentoft You must pay attention to the colors that attract you and also, to those colors, which invoke an intense, dislike. It is most likely that you may dislike a muddy shade as being something disharmonious. But the intense dislike of a color can also indicate areas where you may have blockages. If you expose yourself to the full spectrum of color, such as that from a rainbow or prism, you may be able to maintain a healthy balance. Many of today's healers and researchers refer to the Chakras as the subtle energy system of the body. We use many names for this energy- such as primary energy, bio-energy, life force, vital energy, orgon, chi, prana etc. This subtle energy needs a mechanism or path to enter and enliven the human body. This is the substance and purpose of the chakra system: it receives this vital energy and transfers it from the subtle, etheric body to the physical body. Chakras are energy centers located along the center or hara line of the body. The word "chakra" means "wheel", and people who can see them often report seeing vortices or spinning wheels of light. There are seven major chakras as shown in the chart below and many minor ones that are too numerous and lenghty to explain here. I have included in this discussion, one minor chakra- the Thymus (turquoise) as I feel it is an important area for healing. The chakras act as transformers of this t life force / prana / chi energy. I work with the chakra system in healing and use the color spectrum to work with specific colors for emotional based issues as follows: First chakra -Root-Red (or black): Physical and survival issues Second chakra -Sacral-Orange: Emotional Issues - Third chakra -Solar Plexus-Yellow: Mental and Will issues Fourth chakra - Heart - Green and pink: Love and Spiritual issues *Thymus Chakra- midway between heart and throat- Turquoise: Spiritual Love Fifth chakra -Throat -Sky Blue: Communication Sixth -Brow - Indigo or Violet: Intuition Seventh Crown- Violet or Clear White: Higher Spiritual Understanding As far as healing with color, I envision balls of light or surround my client with a bubble of colored light and healing energy. I sometimes scan the aura for dark areas and work to clear them with laser like streams of colored light. I also visualize the clients chakra system as coming into perfect harmony or balance as I “see” the colors become more vivid and energized. I would like to offer you the following explanations of color and what the indications of them can be used for in healing, as I understand them: GREEN is the healing color. It is always associated with nature-leaves, trees, moss, and grass. It represents change, healing, regeneration and growth, abundance, and endurance. It can also represent self-esteem, environment, health, good luck, renewal, and youth. The qualities of green are known to be generosity, fertility, jealousy, inexperience, envy, faithful love, truth, freedom, balance, and harmony. Green is made from the tranquility of Blue- (signifying the Divine) mixed with the creative cheerful vitality of Yellow. It is the emblem of the growing stages of energy and the symbol of Life. Green is the easiest color to look at and can help improve vision. It is a calming color and has a neutral effect on our nervous system. Green rooms are very restful and it is a popular color in hospitals, government and medical offices because it relaxes clients. People who like green are usually the salt of the earth types, reliable, kind and giving. They have a knack for bringing out the best in people. Their regard for people is sincere. They make great friends because they tend to value personal achievement and are not concerned with status. Provided the patient wants healing, green is good for most healing needs. It works best for heart issues in both mental and physical cases. A good color for balancing, green can assist with easing pain, and promote faster healing. It is a nourishing color for the body, spirit and mind and is wonderful for relieving tension, curing insomnia, and relieving shock and anxiety. In the same regard, it can be helpful for healing past trauma and stressful situations. It is good for relaxation and meditation. Olive green works positively with emotions. Light green works for high blood pressure and dark green is good for low blood pressure. Like blue, too much can deepen depression and social withdrawal in anyone who is inclined to depression. TURQUOISE, BLUE GREEN, AQUA colors are the sea shades known to poets and mystics used to communicate love, healing and intuition. They relate to transformation and rational thought. These colors are associated with the Thymus Chakra, a transpersonal chakra about midway between the heart and the throat. This is the chakra, which connects us with energies of spiritual love and mystical communion with the Divine. For healing, turquoise can help to calm hyperactive or hypersensitive people, as it is useful in calming the mind and cooling for the nervous system. It assists the immune system and is good for physical detoxification, circulation, transition issues, and can improve the healing effect of energy in general. You will often notice someone who is agitated will place their open palm here on the chest to calm themselves. BLUE is the color of communication, symbolizing a pure mind, spirituality and because of it being associated with the fifth chakra - the throat; it represents speech, listening, hearing, knowing, truth, serenity peace and tranquility. It can also mean honesty, harmony, deep, love and affection. Most people find blue soothing and tranquil, but some may associate it with, solitude, sadness, and depression. It can have a quieting effect on the mind and will encourage contemplation. Blue is neutral and supports both female and male energy equally. INDIGO is the color of twilight- the deep night blue before it edges into purple. This color is a higher vibration frequency of the base color blue. It contains all the attributes of blue but there is an added aura of deep mystery and the unknown. Indigo provides the gateway to the astral world. It is know to be the color of spirituality, clarity, detachment, relaxation, and tranquility. It can offer a sense of sedative, or hypnotic safety. It represents intuition, which makes it a very good choice for meditation. It can also elicit feelings of moodiness, and sorrow, which is why it shouldn’t be used in people with depression. It can be helpful however in removing the sensation of fear. Indigo relates to the sixth chakra - which is the brow chakra, located in the middle of the forehead and is also known as the third eye. Indigo empowers intuition and creativity. The color of transformation and metamorphosis, it represents deep wisdom and calm awareness. When viewed in the aura, indigo indicates that the subject is clairvoyant, empathic and often very spiritual. Used spiritually for healing, it heals the etheric body and effects all the senses. Historically, the range of colors from indigo to purple, are associated with the nobility because the dyes used to make these colors were rare and very expensive. This color is one of the best painkillers. It is anti-stress. Indigo is known to be anesthetic. It is used for bone problems, and will strengthen the pituitary gland. Many energy healers find it good for chest and sinus problems, head colds, mental illness, emotional hurt, diseases of the ears, vision problems, swelling and insomnia. If you use it for headache problems, use it only in small doses. Too much can actually give some people headache pain. It can help open communication and clear up confusion, or any condition involving the blood, including varicose veins, boils, ulcers, and bruising. This color is very good to help with transition situations and will greatly ease the process of dying. VIOLET is the color most associated with the crown chakra. It represents the Divine aspects. Violet has the shortest wavelength of the colors in the visible spectrum, and it vibrates very fast. Violet signifies endings, illumination, and rebirth. In the aura, violet is rare and can indicate a person who understands spiritual matters, one who is empathic, and very receptive to the Higher Self. RED VIOLET is the color of compassion, universal love and service to others. Blue Violet is a color of psychic phenomenon. Violet is a deeply healing and cleansing color, and soothes pains in body, mind and spirit. PURPLE is used for mental and nervous problems, rheumatism, and epilepsy. It is helpful with pain, used in deep tissue work and to heal bones. It suppresses appetite, is good for migraines, as an analgesic, and stimulates the immune system. It can promote inner peace. LANVENDER helps with spiritual healing, inner balance, can be used as a tranquilizer, and promotes sleep. It energizes and rebuilds the energy body template. Overuse can be tiring. The purple and violet shades can be good for mental and nervous disorders and emotional disturbances. This color maintains potassium balance. As with blue, do not use for depression. YELLOW is the color of intellect, new life, and is energizing and stimulating. Useful for mental stimulation, it is good for clearing a foggy head. It’s been associated with artistry, wisdom, creativity, confidence, exhilaration, mental power, playfulness, light, and illumination. Yellow is the color of the individual will, or the third chakra- the solar plexus. It radiates high levels of pure energy, and can revitalize the spirit. Yellow represents the power of ideas. The shade of this color is very important in interpreting its qualities. In some energy work yellow is considered to be the color of Chi or prana- the life force. This is the color, which is the most stressful for the eyes. The amount of light in this color can over-stimulate the eyes and cause irritation. However this color can speed up metabolism. People may become irritated and nervous in a yellow room, children may have trouble sleeping and babies may cry more. It is often a color to incite movement. Pure yellow is the sunniest color of the spectrum. People who favor yellow are usually vibrant, and have an innate ability to make others laugh. They are playful, humorous and fun loving, and see the amusing side of life. Yellows can be natural artists and writers, and enjoy working with their hands. Many are gifted at intuitive healing. You must be careful using yellow in healing, as it is highly stimulating and can cause exhaustion and depression if overused. Yellow can be used to treat dermatitis and other skin problems. It activates the nervous system, so it is good for nervous exhaustion. Digestive disorders, gas, food allergies, liver problems, diabetes, hypoglycemia, hyperthyroid, gallstones, muscle cramps, nervous disorders, depression, exhaustion and breathing problems, lymphatic problems, dispelling fears, building bones can all be helped with the color yellow. I would not use yellow for nervous breakdowns, it is much safer to use blue and green. Yellow is warm and inviting like sunshine and can make you feel good. But just like the sun, use it in small doses. RED: The most physical, and active color of the spectrum is Red. A color of personal statement (I AM), red is a color of will. It supports survival and leadership. It is the color of fertility and represents birth. It can keep in check and /or restrain hostile attention because red objects are noticed immediately. Red clothing conveys a certain power, passion, and a lot of energy. Red cars are associated with speed. Bright red rooms will often make people anxious. They can influence people to lose track of time, and stimulate rash decisions or action. That is one reason why it is usually used in bars, and casinos. Restaurants often use red as a decorating scheme because it stimulates the appetite in the same way orange does. Red is the color associated with the root chakra. Red is powerful in healing with many restorative qualities such as raising energy, increasing vitality and power. Its vibration can raise conscious awareness. It stimulates creativity, courage, strength and passion. It can be used for wounds, and diseases of the blood and circulation. Red can reduce pain and warm extremities but red can also cause pain in sensitive people in the way sunburn might and for this reason it should not to be used for fresh burns. It does help alleviate depression. Red is not normally used on people with high blood pressure or anxiety as it stimulates circulation, elevates blood pressure and increases respiratory rates. Overexposure to red can make you agitated or even aggressive. ORANGE is the warm color of high energy on both physical and spiritual levels. It is associated with ideas, warmth, contentment, overall wellbeing, optimism, and enthusiasm. Orange is the color of the second chakra, which governs our emotional body and mental body with its logical and conceptual functions. In the aura, it indicates creativity, high aspiration, pride, self sufficient, ambitious, wholesomeness, confidence, strength, and generosity. It can also indicate someone who is self justified. Often found in fast food restaurants, this is the color that really stimulates appetite. People who like this color are often social and extroverted by nature, confident and independent, learn well n their own and make great teachers. They may have issues with impatience. A great deal of self-appreciation is needed to keep emotions open or else they can be overly sensitive and easily hurt. Healers use orange to raise energy levels, and increase immunity. It can recharge the etheric body, which is the template for the physical body. You may find it very useful for all digestive ailments, sexual potency, chest and kidney diseases, asthma, and to help with cramps and spasms. Orange has a gentle warming effect if used lightly. Marvelous as an antidote for depression, loneliness and tiredness, orange, like red should not be used for too long. It is not a good color for nervous people or those who are easily over excited or prone to anxiety. PEACH as the next shade is softer than orange and would be good to instill sensations of peace, truth, and balance. PINK is the color of sensitivity, unconditional love, gentleness, and a willingness to help others. It represents joy, love, truth, beauty, and health. Pink is related to both the first- root, and 4 th -heart chakras. This color represents subtle movement, causing action without overt force. Pink can help bring emotional balance and sensitivity into daily life. Because of its tranquilizing effects, pink is used in prisons and mental institutions to calm aggressive people. GRAY is mysterious and protective. Sometimes we associate with gloom as in a foggy day, but we should also realize it can be a protective cloak when we need shelter. Often we associate qualities such as Security, reliability, intelligence, modesty, or dignity with gray. It can also mean old age, sadness, and boring. When seen in the aura it shows depression or indicate malfunction in the part of the body under stress. An interesting note here is that brain injured individuals often do not perceive color at all. Quite often they may only see gray or black when using the ROSHI glasses. SILVER is often thought of as intuitive, healing, and having balance. It is associated with rebirth and psychic work. It a stabilizing and grounding color. It is used to help regulate the emotional and intuitive energies and provide one with patience and perseverance in chosen tasks. BLACK is the sign of great mystery and the unknown. We associate it with power, sexuality, sophistication, formality, elegance, wealth, mystery, fear, and always evil. It can be a dormant state of energy or the color of hidden power. In the aura, it denotes blockages, hidden issues, and illness. Black can indicate deep depression or someone who needs rest, peace and healing. Sometimes in the disintegration of the outer layers of the Aura that precede death, we will see black. Black spots in the aura are usually a strong indication of pending or active illness. The color black can be used as an outer shield or protective layer for someone in trauma who is closed off from the outer world. This color is not used in healing often except as grounding, and stabilizing energy. Black is sometimes helpful with extreme pain. Meditation or directing focus on black things can often help with problem solving and intuitiveness. WHITE incorporates all the qualities of the other colors. It represents transcendence, innocence, purity, reverence and awe. It brings us peace at a high level. Clear white is representative of someone highly evolved. In healing work, it is the all-purpose healing color, and a major purification and protection tool. Milky white can be used for pain relief. In Neurofeedback training there are certain protocols, which enhance energy. The use of the ROSHI LED glasses is an added light therapy benefit. White lights can be safely used by everyone and are a diagnostic tool as well. Some clients are not able to differentiate the spectrum of color with the white lights. People who don’t see the colors are often depressed or have suffered a brain injury. When they begin to see the colors after several sessions of training, it can be taken as a sign of the brain beginning to heal. In our office we notice that for depression, clients react best to red or orange lights while someone who is anxious will react better to blue and green. If the client is both depressed and anxious, then short sessions of both sets of color is best as too much of one will set off either the anxiety or the depression. For this reason the ROSHI Indigo (red/blue) works well in these types of cases. In time, using any colored lights, the client’s perception will change from seeing the spectrum of colors to seeing just white at the end of the session. It is my assumption that the brain has now synchonized and is functioning at an optimum or more transcendent level. I have long found the study of color fascinating and I hope this lengthy explanation has been helpful in understanding just how powerful color therapy can be when combined with Neurofeedback training for your clients. Lynne Roberto Master Teacher & Healer Reiki, Chios, Christian Science revcirce@speakeasy.net MAGENTA always shows someone who has addictions. My wife reads aura pics we went to a county 2 north of us, and 30% of the people showed Magenta. Asking them about their addictions or if they smoked pot. Everyone admitted to it. So we joke and call that county the land of the Magenta people. Also, I’ve never seen the root chakra as Black. Most people think that a black aura means that person is going to die, but we found that lack of aura color or no aura means that person is going to pass very soon. Black usually but not always showed as that person shielding themselves. There is a colour code in everything The application of color manifests in many ways, on many levels simultaneously: colored gels with projections of magnified light that penetrate and stimulate the body's meridians which corresponds to traditional Asian acupuncture systems as well as accessing and incorporating the axiational lines (see Key 317 in The Keys of Enoch Hurtak 1977); colored lights applied to areas of the body (see Edwin Babbitt & Dinshah's documented work from India, 1878 onward); the use of colored lenses (prescription & nonprescription eye-ware) which affect the body through the optic nerve, stimulating the retina rods using the reception and transmission of light frequency, adjusting neurotransmitter levels especially at night due to the varied levels of light penetration, and adjusting intake of light for various neurotransmitter functions including the pituitary and pineal gland functions; the use of the sun's rays and projections of color through 'glass' and other laser-like applications; colored light applied directly to the eyes (see Jacob Liberman's work & others); and the use of crystals or crystal rods with or without an exterior light source, that allows for the penetration of color into the body through the auric field, employing light via the points and channels or meridian grid fields of the acupuncture systems and also the star or axiational lines. Practitioners do vary in their applications of these modalities. Further use of color is made in the environment through the use of colored lights, paints applied to a room, color of carpeting, furniture, artwork, crystals, colored clothing, and so on, all varying to degrees throughout one's environment and world, all of which directly impact the body-mind-spirit through the biomagnetic (auric) fields and the senses Every cell in the body emits light and therefore its components, color. Thus color may be employed to adjust bodily functions using light on broad body areas and specific points. A beam of light is concentrated on the body, similar to acupuncture yet without needles, utilizing meridians & energy channels to uplift function & connectedness. This introduces corrective information energetics triggering harmonizing & healing impulses in physical & universal energy spheres. As the hypothalamus controls through the pituitary gland, bodily functions are influenced by light, energized by external light that is transformed into electrical impulses by optical photoreceptors. This light transmits instructions to the pituitary, which controls the endocrine system, which includes the pituitary, pineal, thyroid, thymus, adrenals, pancreas, ovaries or gonads-testes. The endocrine system carries information that regulates physical and chemical processes. The autonomic nervous system governs all involuntary processes of the heart and is ruled by the hypothalamus. It also regulates body temperature, appetite, growth, metabolism, rage, fear, sexual and reproductive functions, and available fuels such as glucose and ATP. The pineal gland is strongly related to light in that the body’s built-in light meter responds to light levels by producing melatonin, which determines circadian or metabolic rhythm. Known as the third eye and linked next to the sahasrara or crown chakra on the top of the head, the pineal is a mystic doorway, an entry point for the life-giving light energy emanating from the universal soul or Overself. Mystical color application involves the integrative knowledge of seven circular switching stations on the skin called transmitter relays. One relay governs the immune system, another the survival and sexual drives, and four others involve the spirit within the cells. A seventh, the relay of memory, is what some name the Akashic record. Every change, every instant of our lives is recorded. The life program is the incarnational (Overself) blueprint, inscribed at the moment of conception, with the information it carries activated by birth. Decompression of this information from the seven switching stations and meridians connected to them unfolds throughout our lives. This relates to the seven light shells. The healing power of color is enhanced in these systems by the sensitivity of the individual client and practitioner and empowered through faith and grace. The impulse of color from the within to the without and vice-versa becomes apparent as changes in symptoms and enhanced awareness. In addition to the points and meridians, the body is further aligned in its axiational lines, as referred to Keys of Enoch 3 1 7. Axial lines exist in parallel to acupuncture lines in the physical body and connect to indigenous resonating star systems and populations 888. The body is a grid of magnetic domains which move between the pattern angles of the human organs and the primary blueprint of the Overself. The body’s renewing functions are controlled through open-ended axial lines that are controlled by biochemical clocks, in turn controlled by electromagnetic resonance factors. All lines may be aligned through the noise temperature calibrations, which includes the therapeutic use of color, light and light frequencies, magnetics, and the pairing of color and tonal frequencies. The application of appropriate sonic and ultrasonic frequencies effectively generates light and therefore biochemical re-generation. Color is effectively employed via the optic nerve. Relationships exist between light frequencies incident into the eyes and the functioning of the pituitary; between light and the rate of growth of cells and tissues and cell division rates, and an individuals physical development; between light frequency in the eyes and the mass body potential; between the light environment and the development of the biotype, modifying the hereditary tendency, and the secretion of hormones by the endocrine gland with the pituitary as the master gland; between light frequency and the action currents leaving the eye toward the brain, these currents being both qualitatively and quantitatively altered; between the reproductive cycle and the light frequency environment, a quantitative one in respect to the number of individuals of any species; between the light frequency environment and the dynamic tension present between the two divisions of the autonomic nervous systems, and the restoration of health following departures from mean responses; between light frequency into the eye and the degree of nerve cell irritability thus modifying reflexes, and bodily health; between nerve impulses from the eye, due to incident light frequency and the state of tension in the autonomic nervous system, muscle response, and the perception of pain. Each color's specific frequency corresponds to a specific aspect of a person which changes over time. Color helps the body in its natural ability to balance itself, used for centuries especially in Asia and Atlantis, Lemuria, Mu, and Alatia. Color supplies the light energy that supports our very life essence. Color therapy sessions can stimulate the points of light and meridian grid fields to facilitate the migration of light within the body's own galactic realms. Internal processes readjust hormonal activity through the light alteration via the eyes also as the optic nerve converts light and into electricity which then traverse the meridians and nervous systems to direct bodily functioning. - Amira Mah http://lewfh.tripod.com/coloursareco...talstructures/ |

Hi, wow what a post, must have taken a while to write!
With respect some of those colours are not for healing but for causing death and inciting accidents. You must never use grey with healing. Grey is the color of illness and bad energy. Grey, applied repeatedly to the aura can bring about a slow death, Its all down to knowing what you are doing really. For an inexperienced person to dabble with healing with colours can be tremendously dangerous. A couple of examples: Red can bring on sudden attacks, accidents, bloodshed, violence, and hatred. Red can also be used to incite wars, anarchy, and cruelty. Mars rules red. Red is of the element of fire. The color red and rule the root chakra. Red can be used for positive as well but i would strongly recommend to people who want to heal themselves NOT to use grey at any cost. Also to speak to someone with advanced knowledge with these things first and not the crap taken from new age books. I mean no offence your post is very good but i had to mention about the grey as i know only too well what that can do. Im sure you understand. ![]() |

Color is a most interesting healing modality. A few years ago, I stumbled on the subject of syntonic optometry, and its uses in healing. Jacob Leiberman, a very wonderful and spiritual expert in the field, trained me by phone from Hawaii. His use of color changed over time, and what he taught me is that when people are ill and stressed, the visual field begins to collapse. Thus the field needs to be reopened using all colors, gradually opening back up. Then specific colors can be used for different types of problems. Our cells send light encoded messages. If your visual field is breaking down, that just isn't efficient anymore. I use my lght wheel (a projector) often for balancing when under stress.
Sound is also a big area of natural healing. I am also interested in the Solffegio Tones. Anyone know how these work? |

Hello Makani
Your article was great; however there is a far deeper knowledge that is connected with Color. For a more clinical understanding of Color, in particular FULL SPECTRUM AND COLOR LIGHT. I highly recommend if interested to check out this book. I have studied it aprox 10 years ago, because I have been working with FULL SPECTRUM/COLOR/LIGHT BOOK: “LIGHT YEARS AHEAD” -The Illustrated Guide to Full Spectrum and Colored Light in Mindbody Healing… Jacob Liberman, OD, PhD, FCSO Norman Shealy, MD, PhD John Downing, OD, PhD, FCSO Steven Vazquez, PhD Samuel Pesner, OD, FCSO Robert Dubin, DC Lee Hartley, EdD Mary Bolles, BA Ward Lamb, DC Akhila Dass, OMD, Lac Manohar Croke, BA David Olszewski, EE, IE Jerry Green, JD Brian Breiling, PsyD SUNLIGHT Nature’s Source of Harmony * Balance * Rhythm * Synergy Light is a nutrient, and like food, is necessary for optimum health HOW LIGHT EFFECTS THE BRAIN AND BODY Full Spectrum Light Can Provide Many Of The Positive Effects Of Natural Sunlight: * Diminishes symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) * Provides vitamin D for absorption through the skin (critical for calcium levels) * Regulates the hypothalamus (control center of appetite, energy level, mood) * Diminishes appetite for fats and sugars (foods responsible for weight gain) * Decreases levels of melatonin (hormone which creates the desire for sleep) * Increases levels of serotonin (hormone which creates feelings of peacefulness) FULL SPECTRUM LIGHT PHOTOTHERAPY Natural sunlight contains wavelengths of energy representing the full visible spectrum of color. Color wavelengths are the part of sunlight which profoundly effect how the body regulates itself and on how you feel. Full spectrum fluorescent light is the form of artificial light that contains the same powerful color spectrum that natural sunlight provides. Exposure to full spectrum lighting is an excellent way to lift your spirits and enhance the balance and harmony of your body’s bio-rhythms. I just wanted to add this info to this post for those who may be interested in other forms of Color Therapies…. NAMASTE |
