Personally I have always been uncomfortable with those that refer to God as Yahweh.
YHVH is the UNPRONOUNCEABLE name of God. I think we should respect that. |

I found this news very interesting. I find it funny that the church seems to want to pander to Judaism when Christianity at it's core declares Judaism to be heretical and apostate for not accepting Christ.
So I wonder what the true story with this is. |

How would you feel if they took out your name in a book about you?

I feel it is now understood that all that is religion is a race. A race where no man wins and the holders keep their grip or control. It is foolish to have to follow rules with fear of displeasing. This stunts the soul in its journey. The greatest truth is that nothing here is real but a projection of belief and habit.
remove these and you find horror. You find a world where you struggle and your god does not answer. You have little to pay your way. You see nature and its harmony and you feel yourself lost. the god we all talk about is you. It is inside you. Simply clear away your mind talk and then listen. You will then learn how to live around the illusion we all take part of. |

The original poster, I believe, did not title his entry correctly. I read the article he provided by hyperlink and learned that the Catholic church is not "changing the name of God." The article only talks about removing the tetragrammaton from a few hymns. I think we can all genuflect a little easier now. A more interesting story would be the current trend away from Vatican II that involves the changing of wording in the liturgy to latin translations. Another recent topic is the Catholic church welcoming alien visitors - nonterrestrial in origin - as our brothers in Christ. Google.

[QUOTE=macrostheblack;9273]
remove these and you find horror. You find a world where you struggle and your god does not answer. You have little to pay your way. You see nature and its harmony and you feel yourself lost.QUOTE] I feel sad to learn that this has been your experience. I have found great opportunity in my life struggles. In fact, my wisdom and joy has deepened with each struggle and gifted me with a sympathy and understanding of others' struggles. I love more because of my struggles because I understand better what others have been through. And in my darkest hours, such as after the death of my parents this last year, I have sensed a great mysterious love befriend and comfort me that I cannot explain. Nature has been one of my best friends and only cultivated a more meaningful sense of harmony that I find myself a little bit more with each day. Even days that I am depressed, I look forward to what the next day brings. I keep asking questions and, with patience and empathy toward others, I do receive answers. When you used "you" in your post, you seemed to assume that everyone would reach the same conclusions as you. My life, ergo, your life. There are as many perspectives as there are lives.....billions. I share these things with you from the Autumn of my life. |
