New moon and annular Solar Eclipse in Capricorn TONIGHT

I got this in an email from a friend of mine. It's by someone named Allison Rae. I'm not familiar with her but I thought it might be of interest to some people here because the new moon is coinciding with an annular Solar Eclipse in Capricorn. My friend says that intention during this event is very important. Enjoy!

The past doesn't determine the future.

Tonight's annular Solar Eclipse in Capricorn initiates a new round of changes in our ever-accelerating journey through the 2012 gateway and beyond.

Eclipses are super-charged alignments that amplify the effects of new and full moons. Beginning two weeks ago on New Year's Eve and continuing through January 2011, five eclipses happen in Cancer and Capricorn. Issues around family, home, marriage, parents and children will be highlighted. Also banking, business, finance, real estate and taxes. In short, the structures, forms and foundations of our lives.

Electromagnetic shifts connected with eclipses tend to trigger Earth changes. This week's violent 7.1-magnitude earthquake in Haiti is a grim example. A 6.5 earthquake shook northern California days before.

New moons are endings, and new beginnings. As the Sun and Moon meet tonight in late Capricorn, things begin to stabilize again, in a new way.

Ruled by Saturn, Capricorn organizes and reorganizes physical forms based on cosmic principles. Eclipses break up energy patterns. Throughout the year, the forms and structures of our lives will continue to shift in this fluid, ever-changing reality on planet Earth.

Instead of waiting to see what will happen, we're invited to join in this process of reorganization as powerful co-creators, agents of change committed to creating a brighter future unencumbered by the past.

Eclipse ends (last contact with Earth) 10:07 AM GMT/UT Friday; 5:07 AM Eastern US Friday

This annular eclipse will be visible across Africa, India, the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka and southeast Asia. With optimal viewing conditions, a narrow ring of the Sun will be seen beyond the dark mask of the Moon in those regions.

CAPRICORN NEW MOON/SOLAR ECLIPSE



We are definitely in a whole new energy with this dynamic New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Capricorn, an earth sign. We are finally feeling the grounding we’ve felt was missing for many, many months. We find here the Sun, the Moon and Venus all at the same degree of Capricorn, so we will also have a burst of confidence and enthusiasm about how our own personal forward motion will expand this coming year, and how we feel ready to handle the opportunity, and how we will have a new confidence in what we want and need to manifest in our lives. Capricorn teaches us to abide by the realities of the material plane, the physical constraints of time and space, of cause and effect. Capricorn also deals with authority and self-reliance. How do we measure ourselves against external standards of success, or by our own personal, internal, spiritual compass? Like the lunar eclipse that occurred two weeks ago, this solar eclipse is closely conjunct Venus, calling us to clarify our very core values and recognize and real cost of our choices. What matters most of all? How can we use our own creativity to solve the various obstacles that may appear on our horizon.

This certainly is our chance to truly manifest what is our heart’s desire in all areas of life. And not only do we have this eclipse energy for a whole year, we will be having a second Capricorn solar eclipse next January as well. So, last year was about clearing and addressing old beliefs, and old imprinted values, and now we are being asked to step up in our lives with a new commitment to maturity, and to act from a framework of an understanding of no more scapegoating of others, or settling for just a band-aid solution.

We also have the planet Jupiter moving out of Aquarius into Pisces, which gives us a new, more subtle sense of the non-material realms and how we will be also valuing our intuition, imagination, dreams and expanding our metaphysical knowledge.

So, open to all of these new energies, and feel your own forward motion so that what you manifest will be a very pleasing and rewarding way to live your life.
