Default Voynich Manuscript

While going through some Terence Mckenna videos...I ran across this set of three....then I also found the pdf of the manuscript...check it out...is it a hoax or something of great importance....

I recommend viewing the first video at least to see what the manuscript is viewed to be

The PDF

Hoax. I have details on this in my archive, but haven't got time right now to check it. I'll post them either tonight or tomorrow.

and your sure of that? Or is it a hoax because they cannot figure it out...
If it is a hoax...it's a pretty expensive one..lots of money has been spent to decode it...

Seriously..how can you claim a hoax without presenting your view?

I'm quite aware of the fact that it has been claimed as a hoax..even Terence says that in the video...however the fact remains that it is a document of amazing drawings..and if it is jibberish..what is is all about????

Tell me your reason for presenting it as a hoax..or at least anothers views of it being a hoax

Brook, I started doing some followup on this and afterwards some of the graphics in the book made sense.

stem cells and some of the plants look like "little grays" the women are all shaped with pear shapes. Do you think its a book on chakra, root energy and spiritualism and not evil ?

My guts tell me if its really is true then of course they would come out and say it was a "fraud"

I think I will do some more searching

thanks for posting this

Many of the pictures of the plants...if you look at the plant to the root..they look like their being genetically modified...different roots....spliced together with different plants.

yeah a dang good story, listening to you lol

actually I'm teasing. There are so much into these pictures and my mind is going nuts.

the women do not look happy.........they look frightened. I'm afraid to know but it doesnt look good at all

The tubes the woman has her hands in on each side may represent gateways

you can see them at the bottom of the plants roots sometimes. so weird.

the pictures make sense and the writing probally is "alien language"

some look like viens with blood running through them but only the color shows as "blue blood"

oh my imagination is working overtime

I seriously doubt this is a hoax. its very detailed & so many different plants. Makes me think they are plants from another planet?

I got the feeling its something about fertility.....but its full of questions for us.

Is the text an alien language? or has anyone been able to translate it into English?

Oh my curiosity buttons have been pushed.....I want to know more.

Whether it's a hoax or not, it seems no one who has studied
the manuscripts will know for sure.

I was intrigued myself after founding this book by Gerry Kennedy
& Rob Churchill:

I must admit that I haven't finished reading the book yet,
so I am sorry but I can't tell you right now
what conclusions have been drawn from the authors
research.

Newbold and Manly
In 1919, some of the reproductions of the Voynich MS reached one William Romaine Newbold, a professor of philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania. He set to work and decided that the Voynich MS is based on a very complicated cipher, involving anagrams of sections of 55 to 110 characters. He presented plain text solutions of various pages of the MS, indicating that it was written by Roger Bacon, and that Bacon had invented and used both a telescope and a microscope. He presented these results in April 1921, accompanied by Wilfrid Voynich's own presentation of the history of the MS (described in the previous page) and a presentation about he validity of Newbold's claims by an eminent professor of medicine: C.E. McClung.

In 1926 Newbold died, and the book that he had planned to write was published posthumously by his friend Roland Grubb Kent, in 1928. His results were supported by such famous people as Étienne Gilson and Raoul Carton.

Among others, Newbold identified one page of the MS as a depiction of the great Andromeda nebula. The illustration shows a clear spiral structure and the deciphered text includes words referring to a spiral in the sky. The problem is that the spiral structure of this nebula can only be distinguished by modern telescopes (and this was achieved first not long before Newbold's days).

In 1931 John Manly wrote a critical paper about Newbold's theory, exposing its important weaknesses. Newbold did not use the letters of the Voynich MS itself, but the irregularities of the edges of the letters as seen under a magnifying glass, which he converted to letters. The unreliability of a soluition based on anagraming was however the most important objection. Newbold and all those who followed his belief were essentially disgraced and this has had the effect of scaring off most serious researchers from the Voynich MS.

It should be noted that there are still defenders of Newbold's solution, as evidenced by the >> a web page by Michel Theroux.

This is the truly an amazing thought.............and reasonable.....

It is something that won't be confirmed until the time comes it can be deciphered....but the pictures can be seen and read like glyphs....and they certainly tell a story of something of creation.

All the women seem to have bulging bellys...which suggests pregnant....and they are being fed in some way a liquid that would seem to suggest possible genetic coding of some sort ...possibly...
Or as mntruthseeker suggested ...stem cell
Not too sure...and the plants in jars would suggest pharmacology...

But here you have a book that combines three things...plants, biology, and astrology...strange combo if you ask me....and written around 1460 or so

Hi Brook, thanks for the post, another enigma for me to grapple with!!!

I have to agree with what you said and it is a point I tried to make in a reply elsewhere about "calling BS" on everything.

I'm pretty sure I've read an article about the Voynich script in a magazine that was published after this 2004 Economist Newspaper article.
http://www.economist.com/science/displayStory.cfm?story id=2329803

I just don't have the time to leaf through more than a 100 possible magazines where this 'follow up' on the Economist 2004 article was published. I do know the magazine is somewhere in my archive & I remember there were strong. scientific, carbondate like arguments for the claim that it's a 'hoax'.

Perhaps 'hoax' isn't the correct word to use, because the manuscript is a beautiful work of art.

I promise to look for it whenever the mood strikes, or when I can afford a secretary to do it for me.

Good hunting!

Okay..I stand corrected..that site is not just about Economy...and I did find the article...

Decoding the Voynich manuscript

Jan 8th 2004
From The Economist print edition

THE Voynich manuscript, once owned by Emperor Rudolph II in 16th-century Bohemia, is filled with drawings of fantastic plants, zodiacal symbols and naked ladies. Far more intriguing than its illustrations, however, is the accompanying text: 234 pages of beautifully formed, yet completely unintelligible script. Modern scholars have pored over the book since 1912, when Wilfrid Voynich, an American antiquarian, bought the manuscript and started circulating copies in the hope of having it translated. Some 90 years later, the book still defies deciphering. It now resides at Yale University.

Woo hoo I just found a really good article here...

http://www.world-mysteries.com/sar_13.htm

And I stand corrected again..it is not from the era 1460...it is from the 1600's
or possibly the 1500's
