LONDON - First the ship reported it had been attacked in waters off Sweden. Then it sailed with no apparent problems through one of the world's busiest shipping lanes. And then it disappeared.

The Arctic Sea, a Maltese-flagged cargo ship, was supposed to make port in Algeria with its cargo of timber on Aug. 4. More than a week later, there's no sign of the ship or its Russian crew.

Piracy has exploded off the coast of lawless Somalia - but could this be an almost unheard of case of sea banditry in European waters?

"If this is a criminal act, it appears to be following a new business model," Marine intelligence expert Graeme Gibbon-Brooks told Sky News on Wednesday.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev ordered the country's defence minister on Wednesday to take "all necessary measures" to find the missing cargo ship and, if necessary, to free its crew, the Kremlin said. Wives and other relatives of the crew members issued an appeal to the Russian government to carry out a full-scale rescue mission, using all of Russia's special services.

The mystery began on July 24, when the 15 crew members of the Arctic Sea said they were tied up and beaten by a group of up to 10 men who boarded the ship off the Swedish island of Oland. The masked men identified themselves as police officers - but Swedish police said they hadn't been searching ships in that area.

Swedish police investigator Ingemar Isaksson said the crew then claimed that the men left the ship 12 hours later in a high-speed inflatable boat.

"We were very puzzled when we first heard about this," Isaksson said then. "I have never heard of anything like this in Swedish waters."

On July 28, the Arctic Sea made contact with British maritime authorities as it passed through the busy English Channel. The ship made a routine, mandatory report - saying who they were, where they were from, where they were going and what their cargo was. It appeared routine, said Mark Clark of Britain's Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

He said the agency is "extremely curious" about what happened to the ship.

"It's bizarre," he said. "There is no coastguard I know who can remember anything like this happening."

Where the ship was next spotted is uncertain. Russian media reports say the last contact was on July 30 when the ship was in the Bay of Biscay, and that it was later spotted by a Portuguese patrol plane, but there was no contact.

But Portuguese Navy spokesman Commander Joao Barbosa said "we can guarantee that the ship is not in Portuguese waters nor did it ever pass through Portuguese waters."

The cargo was shipped by Finnish wood supplier Rets Timber, and is worth 1.3 million euros ($1.84 million), the company said.

"We have no idea where the ship is," company managing director Kari Naumanen told the AP in Helsinki.

Experts are very concerned about the vessel and crew, but at the same time are wary of attributing the disappearance to armed bandits.

"There have been no attacks in European waters," said Pottengal Mukundan, director of the London-based International Maritime Bureau. "It's not the kind of area where pirates would find it easy to operate."

Nick Davis, the chief executive of the Merchant Maritime Warfare Centre, told the BBC that if anything had happened to the ship, cargo would have been found.

"I strongly suspect that this is probably a commercial dispute with its owner and a third party and they've decided to take matters into their own hands," he said Wednesday.

Pirate attacks off Somalia's lawless coast are a far more familiar occurrence. Pirates have launched more than 100 attacks this year in the Gulf of Aden, one of the world's busiest shipping lanes, and are currently holding about a dozen vessels.

This is one weird story. Its been missing for a month, & now it shows up again? Interesting the story has only just now gone public? I wonder if the crew are still on board......this is another one of those stories that smells fishy?

This story reminds me of when planes go down, the numbers of people on board or were killed keep changing by the story, depending on who writes it.

According to a recent post in the forums of GodlikeProductions.com the would-be bomber, Joseph Moshe, was a microbiologist who wanted to hand over evidence to a States Attorney regarding tainted H1N1 vaccines being produced by Baxter pharmaceutical. He claimed that that Baxter’s lab in the Ukraine was in fact preparing a bioweapon disguised as a vaccine. He maintained that the vaccine contained both adjuvants designed to weaken the immune system, and replicated RNA from the virus responsible for the 1918 global pandemic.

Joseph Moshe (Moshe is the man's middle name) is a bio-scientist. He works (worked?) for a unit within Mossad. He is an Israeli citizen.

The Secret Service was not the agency involved in the surveillance of Moshe at his home in California. This was done by the FBI, who had orders to detain him, or "bring him in."

Moshe did not send a threat to the White House. Rather, he communicated that he intended to go public with information he had regarding the flu vaccine that is being prepared by Baxter Labs, an Austrian company.

The information is this: The vaccine is being manufactured in Ukraine. It is not a vaccine at all, but rather an engineered genetically mutated bio-weapon meant to cause sickness and death. Moshe informed the White House he intended to go public with this information. When he became aware that the FBI was about to detain him, he packed some belongings in his car and set out for the Israeli consulate, located in close proximity to the federal building where the standoff took place. FBI pursuit kept him from reaching his destination.

Mounted on top of the large black vehicle was a microwave weapon which fried the electronics in Moshe's car as well as any communication devices he had which might have been used to contact the media or others who could help him.

Moshe did not suffer the same effects of the gas and pepper spray that others would have because he had built up an immunity to such weapons as a by-product of his Mossad training.

Moshe was not handcuffed because he was not placed under arrest. After leaving police or FBI custody, he returned to Israel, where he is at this time.

A bizarre report is circulating in the Kremlin today wherein the FSB states that one of Israel’s top bio-weapons experts was violently captured by US Federal Police Forces before he was able to reach the safety of the Israeli Consulate in Los Angeles to which he had been fleeing after his receiving a “warning” that he had been “targeted” for assassination by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

According to these reports, Joseph Moshe Bar is one of Israel’s top bio-weapons scientists who while under the “control” of the Mossad was “placed” in Los Angeles to “monitor” a swine flu vaccine “experiment” being carried out in that city by US scientists upon their poorest citizens under the guise of giving to them free medical care.

Note: in Western propaganda media reports his name is shortened to Joseph Moshe.

Note: These reports state that the venue for these experiments upon America’s poorest citizens was the Los Angeles Sports Center where the alleged to be CIA financed Remote Area Medical Volunteer Corporation, for the first time in its history, was conducting a “clinic” in the United States.

Upon Moshe’s attempt to reach the Israeli Consulate building in Los Angeles, these reports continue, he received “information” from the Mossad that he was being “targeted” for “immediate assassination” by the CIA, whereupon he drove his vehicle at “high speed” to the US Federal Building (a few city blocks from the Israeli Consulate, both being on Wilshire Blvd.) where Israeli officials were able to put him the “spotlight” of their American media “contacts” and thwart the death threat against him.

Also interesting to note is that during this “standoff”, US Federal Police Forces bombarded Moshe with CS powder canisters (Note: tear gas is not a “gas” but is a powder) to which these police forces were confounded because it had no effect upon him, and leading Los Angeles Police Lieutenant, Ruben de la Torre, to state to the press when asked about how Moshe was able to withstand this attack, “I can't explain that, there's no way to explain that”.

These reports, however, state that the Mossad, like the FSB and, presumably, the CIA, give to all of their most important “agents” genetic immunity against CS powder and other such chemical agents that may be used against them.

To the reason Moshe was targeted for assassination, these reports continue, was his “obtaining” both a vaccine sample and the secret documents on its “clinical trials” being preformed on America’s poor people by the CIA which the Mossad had previously “leaked” damaging information about to the British press, of which we can, in part, read:

“A warning that the new swine flu jab is linked to a deadly nerve disease has been sent by the Government to senior neurologists in a confidential letter.

GBS attacks the lining of the nerves, causing paralysis and inability to breathe, and can be fatal. The letter, sent to about 600 neurologists on July 29, is the first sign that there is concern at the highest levels that the vaccine itself could cause serious complications.”

To the “grand conclusion” the American war leaders are working towards, these reports conclude, and even with Moshe escaping (at least for now) his planned assassination, and as we had previously reported on in our August 14th report (Russia “Alarmed” After Nuclear Warheads Go Missing In Atlantic), the “cryptic” £1 million ransom demand made today for the “release” of the Arctic Sea, and its even more “mysterious signal” being sent from French waters, show they, the Americans, are still intent upon their, on or about, August 22nd attempt to plunge their people into total chaos and shock.

Someone claims a man found among the hijackers is her husband, that disappeared at sea 3 years ago. However it is claimed that man was thrown off the ship because of an arguement before it went down. Still a mystery where he kept himself those years after though.

Another russian newspaper claims that there were cruisemissiles among the timber, that was supposed to be delivered to Iran.

Again we have a media fuelled story, with no official statement to either prove or disprove anything. :P

I personally didn't see a lot of resemblance between the Moshe's, but the whole thing was so huge, the fed building, UCLA campus all evacuated. The tear gas, pepper spray whatever that didn't work on the guy. Then! the most fishy of all, all the smoke, like it was deliberate to prevent clean sat images. That was a big convoy of LAPD, FBI and secret service alright.
