I have made too many friends here to simply walk away. I've never been one to let monetary issues plague me. I am used to scrounging up change and doing whatever it takes to ensure that I can eat, feed my cat, pay bills, etc.
So, $1 for a month has very little impact on me right now and once my money situation improves, I may donate more. Again, it all depends on the attitude of this forum and the content. I'm kind of saddened that some people apparently felt that even $1 was too much and left. That may actually be a good thing in the long run. |

Yep, I agree, HJ. I'm pretty sure that the logistics can be worked out for anyone who really wants to stay and contribute, but for those who are standing on their moralistic high ground - or whose egos are too fragile to accept the love and care of their friends - it's truly their choice to live in those places rather than contribute (since they can still read). Just MHO

I'm sad too. There were many good people here who decided to leave. I'm more of a reader then a poster, but I have my moments.:lol3
I hope the content will still be as exciting as in the past. I love what Bill and Kerry have created here, and I hope eventually the others will change their minds and come back. The content of this forum and the quality of people here are amazing ![]() Happy holidays to all ![]() |

I just did a $1 for two reasons: 1) current finances and 2) to give this a trial run to see if the forum progresses as those who let their monetary beliefs get in the way of helping provide for something good to continue to work within the system to help change it. To beat the system, you have to use the system.

I've seen abovetopsecret but I don't think I want to be a part of that forum, despite some similarities in subject material. |

I paid $12 for a year; at least the forum gets $12 at once.
I figure it's been worth $12 so far for the few bits of info I've picked up here. To those on some sort of "moral" high ground about things being free, you would probably be the same way in any community you were involved with. Some years back when I was in college I helped a roommate find a desk. I had a car, he didn't. I drove him all over town to different second hand furniture stores. When we finally found a desk he wanted and could afford, I haggled the price down for him, and we loaded the desk into my car. On the way back to the house, I asked him if he had a little money for gas. He acted shocked and told me that he had thought I was helping him out of friendship. I told him yes, I help out of friendship. The car, though, runs on gas. |

i paid $5 for one month and I bet that my monthly income is less than that of many on this forum. I also offered to sponsor someone but that someone has been taken care of by the moderators. I guess some people would like to have everything for free. As long as I am able to pay, I will. I give money to so many charity organizations every month that I will not even notice $5 missing from my pocket.

I think the work Bill and Kerry are doing is too important to let die due to lack of funds for food, shelter, and plane tickets to interview locations. I have donated to Project Camelot in the past and don't mind providing extra funds by way of this forum. While the power of intention is important, the power of actually doing something is more important.
I don't post often, don't consider my opinions as particularly important, and don't view the forum fee as paying to post. It is helping to keep Project Camelot from shutting down altogether. |

I do think that the forum should be free. Someone else said that when you're on the web you should use the web's nature, which is its flow. By locking things down like this they might constrict the flow. So I hope that they are able to find some other way of funding.
However, we can't abolish money from one day to the next so I am in with 12$ as you can see! Indeed, this is a little contribution to make if you have gained form this forum as little as only once. Looking forward to many enlightening discussions guys! |
