Default Egyptian prayers: O ra - o isis

INSPIRING ANCIENT EGYPTIAN PRAYERS
from Astraelia

O RA

You God of Life, you Lord of Love,
All men live when you shine.

You are the crowned King of the Gods.
The goddess ISIS embraces you,
and enfolds you in all seasons.
Those who follow you sing to you with joy,
and they bow down their foreheads to the earth
In gratitude for your radiant blessings.

O RA, You the King of Truth, the Lord of Eternity,
The Prince of Everlastingness,
You Sovereign of all Gods,
You God of Life, you Creator of Eternity,
You Maker of Heaven.
All the Gods rejoice at your rising.

O RA, You giver of all life,
The Earth rejoice when it sees your golden rays
People who have been long dead
come forward with cries of joy
to behold your beauties every day.
You go forth each day over Heaven and Earth.

O RA God of Life, you Lord of Love,
All men live when you shine.

( Translation of the Hieroglyph prayer on the wall of the Egyptian tomb of
Shepenmut.
Prayers such as this were often carved on the walls of tombs and/or written
on papyrus to help bring good fortune and blessings in the journey of the
soul in the Afterlife. )

Hymn to ISIS
the Lady of Extasy
( from the Temple of Heru at Edfu )

All hail, jubilation to You, ISIS, O Golden One,
Sole ruler, Uraeus of the Supreme Lord Himself!
Mysterious One who gives birth to the divine entities,
Forms the animals, models them as She pleases, fashions men...

Luminous One who thrusts back the darkness,
who illuminates every human creature with your rays,
hail, Great One of many Names...

You from whom the Divine Entities come forth
You-Who-Cause us to breathe,
Daughter of Ra,
Daughter of the Word
whom He spat forth from His mouth

O Venerable Mother, You who subdues Your adversaries.
O You-Who-Knows-How-To-Make-Right-Use-of-the-Heart,
You who triumphs over Your enemies.

It is the Golden One...
the Lady of Extasy,
of Music, of Dance, of incense,
of the Crown, of Young Women,
Whom men acclaim because they love Her!

It is the Gold of the Divine Entities,
who comes forth at Her season,
the Day of the New Moon,
at the Festival of "She is Delivered"...

Heaven makes merry,
the earth is full of gladness,
the Castle of Heru rejoices.

Thanks for sharing those hymns, I'm in love with this stuff. Very powerful.
Here is one of my favorites:

Hymn to the Sun

Homage to thee, O Ra, at thy tremendous rising!
Thou risest! Thou shinest! the heavens are rolled aside!
Thou art the King of Gods, thou art the All-comprising,
From thee we come, in thee are deified.

Thy priests go forth at dawn; they wash their hearts with laughter;
Divine winds move in music across thy golden strings.
At Sunset they embrace thee, as every cloudy rafter
Flames with reflected color from thy wings.

Thou sailest over the zenith, and thy heart rejoices;
Thy Morning Boat and Evening Boat with fair winds meet together;
Before thy face the goddess Maat exalts her fateful Feather,
And at thy name the halls of Anu ring with voices.

O Thou Perfect! Thou Eternal! Thou Only One!
Great Hawk that fliest with the flying Sun!
Between the Turquoise Sycamores that risest, young for ever,
Thine image flashing on the bright celestial river.

Thy rays are on all faces; Thou art inscrutable.
Age after age thy life renews its eager prime.
Time whirls its dust beneath thee; thou art immutable,
Maker of Time, thyself beyond all Time.

Thou passest through the portals that close behind the night,
Gladdening the souls of them that lay in sorrow.
The True of Word, the Quiet Heart, arise to drink thy light;
Thou art To-day and Yesterday; Thou art To-morrow!

Homage to thee, O Ra, who wakest life from slumber!
Thou risest! Thou shinest! Thou radiant face appears!
Millions of years have passed, --we cannot count their number,--
Millions of years shall come. Thou art above the years!

You do realise that your praying to that great big shiney thing that greets us every morning and departs from our embrace every evening..

This is the 21st century, the time for worshiping physical objects has come to an end.. or so i thought.

Your prayers to solas would be much more appreciated if directed towords spirit.

Thumbs down Re: Egyptian prayers: O ra - o isis

Sorry for that astraelia they are very beautiful and very spiritual hymns.

@2infinity
It's obvious you haven't looked into the Egyptian culture further then what you learned from Zeitgeist. Yes on the surface Isis and Ra represent Celestial Bodies. But what do the Celestial Bodies represent?

One of the main factors of why we find ourselves in such trouble today is due to our
ignorance we have regarding our past.

The Egyptians as a whole were a far more spiritual culture (albeit a declining one) then our Western culture is today, and even the majority of the East.

I'm surprised you can't feel the power within those hymns being an Indigo and all.

Hmm im speculative when it comes to the whole thing of anient religions, i would however love to know exactly what it is that makes you feel this way about them.

Im not an indigo im here to help indigos, and if im to be caught in a trap of my words then im totally screwed, but hey, it dont matter now anyways,

Actually, those poems are quite powerful... and today they really make sense, for me anyway, not from a worship the Sun or Isis frame of mind, but from the standpoint of the expression that comes out of them.

A few days ago someone mentioned in a post about the Solfeggio scale and at the bottom of the listing of notes Isis was the last note, that's when it dawned on me that all these deity's and characters and ascended masters, etc, are descriptions of the characteristics of a frequency or a note.

That's why so many people can claim to be a reincarnated character from our past, for example, because they are taking on or are vibrating the evolvement of what that frequency transpires. Like if I wanted to describe the attributes that make up the color Violet I would have to describe all the effects that frequency has on life, which of course different frequency's in the spectrum behave differently and you would want to summon or use the right frequency for the correct result. So, a kind of story line emerges in order to describe the white, the red, the blue, the pink- hues of Violet and each minor color adds their attribute into the whole color of Violet. I can see where the endless histories of "stories" would have a value in this in order to learn the right use of the color for the purpose at hand one is seeking to accomplish.

So the Sun has it all and as the Radiation seperates through the electromagnetic field- prism, it seperates into the various color spectrum, which gives life through the characteristics or attributes-instructions from each individual color- frequency to nurture and sustain all life on Earth.

Like, simplistically Violet would burn up impurities in order to prepare for a magnifying focus to expand afterwards. Blue would be used for protection like what our Blue sky represents a shielding from outer space harmful radiation. The same as having a glass bulb protecting the delicate filament inside, for without the glass bulb protection the first moth would hit the filament and break it. You know the law of attraction - opposites attract, but very few realize the protection part (long story). Anyway, I can finally read the intensity of the meaning, the passion of whomever wrote those poems.
