Default What can I do and what can you do?

An interesting thing came to my mind when I was reading some replies of 14 Chakras on other thread;
he basically said that we should do something now like helping our neighbors in all ways.

I kinda have a feeling that this modern time with all technology is slowing us down in our natural emotions and feelings of compassion towards other people.
I`m not saying that modern tech is bad thing, after all we`re not dying from cold anymore ?!? And we can communicate faster all over the world.
But one thing is missing...
It is our compassion. It is our inner being towards others.
We are constantly hiding behind masks. Layer upon layer until we forget who we are. We wear fake smiles and politeness always ready to listen someone just to interrupt him/her after a minute with "kind" words "it`s alright dear" and we stray with our mind on other things forgetting the real person who was opening their soul in faint hope that someone will finally listen them...

And we continue to "live" our life, with happy thought ,love for all ,shining with heavenly joy for new life ...but we do not see that we have just pressed heavily our foot on one soul carelessly...with all our love in mind...

Who we became today? Are we alive? Or we are clones walking on this earth ,living, working, feeding,****ing, sleeping, partying, ...

What we became ? A human robot?
A surrogate of reality where we think or wander with our minds and spirits eagerly wishing to escape the reality...But still we`re haunted by the very reality that we wish to avoid.

I want to do some thing for myself and my brother and sister ( all people) what they can feel. I want to be alive .

If my brother is hungry and in need of any kind of help what will I do?
Will I come to him and say :" I send you my love and happiness..." and just walk away? Will I actually leave him starve to his death? ...With happy thoughts...

Really what can I do and what can you do?
Who do we want to be now?

P.S.
a new Bruce Willis movie speaks well about his too...it`s named -Surrogates-

You sound like that's a bad thing

Just kidding. What else is there? Your questions remind me about a New Age guy I read about. He had a big realization when he had the flu. None of the people he chanted with, talked about ideas with, theorized with, none of them brought soup like his neighbor downstairs did. And so he changed his ways and friends.

I read about this on another thread. It could well be a serious commentary about social structures, technology, dependence, what it means to live, to risk, etc. Like, as we become more educated (in a general global sense), i.e. more aware of consequences of actions, there is a willingness to play it safer, live physically forever, risk vicariously through others.

It could be the types, too. It takes all kinds, but basic humanity is something worth considering IMO.

I think that you are right. As we learn more and get into things more as time pass by we tend to be conformists. That is not a bad thing per se but as we are not developing our spirituality and our soul we slowly and actually decay instead of growing.

We should rethink our priorities or face consequences...
