Just wondering. Many people click on the link, sit there for a while and then go. Is it scary to chat? Come on in! Say hi!

(I know you said hi Ammit.)

Strange. Try another browser? You got Firefox or so?

I concur. The service is rather slow. Alyscat, what's the service you used?

I am on Chrome - which is the free google browser. I use either Chrome or Firefox, and at a very last result, use MSE. I popped right in with no problem. I noticed only a very slight delay from "enter" to post, although one of my posts did not come through. FWIW

Thanks for that. At one point it said "too many connections" and the whole room kind of was there, yet not. After everybody rejoined it was fine though.

I suppose when using an outside service you're just at the mercy of the provider. I don't think it's a person per chatroom limit that we hit but rather that their servers are used by too many users overall.

Alyscat, did you say that you used exactly this service? tinychat? Or was there something similar and how busy could it get?

Sure, a room isn't always full is it. Must have a little patience.

Will get an answer for you later today or this evening - I'm on my way out to a spiral herb garden/companion planting class.

Somebody was wondering if there is any way at figuring how many people are online on the chat right now. I just discovered that this feature exists. Check out the first post of this thread.

Czymra, Here is a song and video you might enjoy. Kathleen Battle, in my opinion, is one of the world's formost opera singers. Once again, I think its a chinese movie.

OK, got a comment back from the SC admin...

Recommend either flashchat or realchat, both are relatively easy to implement and integrate with an existing membership system.

He didn't indicate which one we used - Looks like Flashchat is done by "Flasherize" ( http://www.flasherize.com ) and it states it integrates with VBulletin. Looks like it's $9

Realchat ( http://www.realchat.com ) is a java based server software or they'll host the chat on their server. When they host it, the max is 100 people. When you host it, you are only limited by your server size, apparently. We used real chat on SC, and it worked fine.
