Anyone remembering Colin Powell's PowerPoint 'proof' of weapons of mass destruction before the invasion of Iraq in 2003?
Some fell for it precisely because here was 'pictorial proof', they thought, pictures cannot lie.

Pictures can and do lie, frequently.
Our 5 senses ofte play tricks on us.

Think about the implications, were we so easily convinced based on such pictorial proofs! Mr So-and-So, Mrs So-and-So are reptilian shapeshifters. We have the pictures that prove it.
