I'm still waiting for an explanation into the explosion of the squirrel population in my part of New England. The lack of acorns has made the poor buggers hungry and as much as I tell my mom not to, she still feeds them peanuts. They treat the peanuts like acorns and bury them. Better than nothing but it doesn't help their population because there isn't enough food to support them.
