Sorry but I'm just not buying this one. I think all the Iraqi soldiers gave up and came out waiving white flags because they were tired, hungry, and had the s...t scared out of them by our massive onslaught of troops and tanks and bombs and such! I also believe the HD TV conversion is to free up bandwidth for more important uses, not to just give us clearer pictures, hence the government subsidy, if they didn't pitch in there would be an uproar from people for mandatory switching to HD.
