Isn't our Sun moving us towards that area, during this Galactic Aligment process? Now I realize we are probably not going to get sucked in, but what kinds of effects, could this bring upon our Sun and solar system? gio
Will someone enlighten me???

No, the galaxy is actually expanding. Therefore our solar system, and the Pleiadian star cluster of which our solar system is a part, is moving in a slow spiral away from the center of the galaxy. Of course, "slow" in galactic terms is rather relative. In reality the galaxy is spinning at nearly the speed of light.
Here's a link to some information about the Photon Band that our star cluster is currently entering. It also explains the significance of December 21, 2012.

I hope that helps!
