A Priceless Gift By Jennifer Hoffman
Last week in the U.S. a store employee was trampled to death by a crowd of shoppers anxious to save money on their Christmas gifts.
That brought to mind the other side of Christmas, which has little to do with peace and good will and everything to do with obtaining the best gifts by spending the least amount of money.
This Christmas, while I will purchase presents for my family and friends, I have decided to give everyone a gift that is priceless, has lasting value and will benefit me and everyone in my life for years to come.
I am giving everyone the gift of acceptance.
I am creating a list, of every person in my life who has ever caused me pain, disappointment, hurt or betrayed me.
Everyone who I think has stood in my way, been part of a life lesson and played a part in my suffering will be on the list.
Then I will review the list, see where their contribution has been part of my life lessons
and give them the gift of acceptance.
Through this gift I will see them for who they truly are, understand their pain, suffering, doubt and fear.
I will see where they were often more afraid of me than I was of them and the part that their fear played in their actions.
Then I will acknowledge their contribution in my life and remember that they were merely connecting to an energetic opportunity that existed because of my lessons.
By giving them acceptance
I close that connection and release the energy that attracted them and others like them.
And then I will forgive them.
And I will forgive myself too because I created this life and I am responsible for it and for everyone
and everything in it.
By giving acceptance and forgiveness I release them from their obligations to me so they can do other things with their life and I can do other things with mine.
I have already started this process and have seen the benefits that arise from being willing to release judgments about what someone should have or could have done instead of what they did, to stop questioning their actions or motives and to remember that there is divinity and perfection in all things.
A friend recently reminded me that it is Creator's greatest desire for us to be happy and we must put ourselves in the vibration where that can occur.
We can start with giving the gift of acceptance and release ourselves from being haunted by our past and step into a new, bright future where we partner with our Creator to create a life of joy, limitless abundance and choose the path that leads to the life that we want to live.
