Good advice, backing up your files is always important.
I think that ideally the internet should be an open forum and there are good people working to keep it as open as possible. We probably won't ever know who they are, but they're out there doing their best for the time being.
Like you said though the internet is basicly a thorn in the side of those who'd wish to curtail the free exchange of information. Unfortunately that seems like a pretty influential and capable crowd, so it's probably best to treat the internet as a luxury at this point though.
Use it to the best of your abilities while you can for information and communication. Back up your info digitally and on your biological hard drive as well (good one Orion11
), but try hard to not become dependant upon the digital world, because
technology is temporary, and the divine is infinite.
Oh yeah and you don't want to end up like
these poor internetless rubes!
