Time is tricky stuff, even in real time.
And the future, well... imaging trying to set your watch with 6 billion "time adjusters" helping. Seems a daunting task.
The best analogy I've read on it is this one;
Imagine a squirrel running out on a branch, away from the trunk.
1. Every time he comes to a fork, all the parameters change, based on his choice.
2. The farther out he gets the smaller the hard trail is, meaning the shakier the whole process becomes.
