Yes.
You're not asleep, just in a trance.
It's kinda like driving down the road by yourself without really paying attention, also called "Highway Hypnosis" If nothing happens that the conscious mind hasn't seen before, it'll just kinda blank out. But if something new and different happens, it will remember.
The regressionist/hypnotist also makes a
huge difference by the suggestions they give. They will usually instruct the mind to remember, unless it's too traumatic or fearful, they may simply instruct the conscious mind to forget those parts.
