Hi Vesta, as for storms not much to do except keep a very close eye on the weather and be in a safe place when they hit, as for a vege patch sprouts will have to do, i am also thinking of creating a few "safe places" along the east coast to store food, seeds, matches etc.
Not sailing yet, where on earth i got the crazy idea to build my own boat, heaven knows

Had a sail around Sydney Harbour last Monday with my husband and he's keen to follow your lead but I don't think I can grow my vege patch on a ship...
