Default Re: Clearing up avalon

The only people I see being banned are those who communicate in an abusive, disresptful style. There may be things I have not seen. Often someone takes offense by misinterpretating the other's intent.

I don't see people being banned for disagreeing, but for the abusive manner in which they go about it. These are often (not always) the people that get banned from one discussion list or forum after another, and they never get it that it's not the ideas they present, but the personal attacks and choice of words, like "You are blind if you think that." You are ... is the hallmark of the personal attack. Try using I feel, or I think ...

Thank you to the mods for cleaning up the forum.

Having been a moderator in a large discussion group, I'm well aware of the far-out plots that some people ascribe to the moderators who volunteer their time to keep the list/forum from descending into a flaming war of words.

The key is respect. And do not slam the volunteer mods for doing their job.

I hope this helps explain it's not the ideas that get you banned, but the attitude.
