You just KNOW. There is little other way. How do you really feel about it is the question. It helps to discuss these dreams because they get more detailed each time they're discussed it seems.
You can try and remember some details of the scenery that looked "out of time".
I guess another way of looking at is if the dream was pretty straight forward and "logical".. like the "real world".. I find most of my dreams lack this so this is a good indicator.
You could always get regressed. I've been wanting to do that lately.
