I used to have difficulty with understanding comments like - "that question is meaningless." As a kid I always used to ask questions because that was how I learned things. As I grew older my questions were more towards clarification of what I understood on a particular topic. From time to time I was told my question had no meaning.
Well hell, I thought it did, otherwise I wouldn't have asked it!


So one day I said to a bloke, "I give up! You explain what a meaningless question is then."
"Okay," he responded, here's a couple, "What colour is a gallon? or, how about the classic one - how long is a piece of string?"
So, the question I'd like to ask is - er, um, it's - oh damn! I've forgotten now. Good grief it was right on the tip of my tongue. I think I'd better go back to bed.
