I enjoyed reading all of the posts. Mine is not as scary as some of the others but it was scary enough, to me, at that time.

My husband, daughter and I had gone to see The Blair Witch Project one Saturday evening when the movie was first released in the theater. None of us had told anyone that we were going so I don't think practical jokes were an issue here, but anyway, close to midnight that night, I thought I heard the doorbell ring. I went to the door and stupidly opened it, but nobody was there. So I thought I just dreamed or imagined it and went back to bed. The next morning, my daughter said she imagined she heard the doorbell ring and it scared her so she got up and locked her bedroom door. My husband didn't hear it but he hears N O T H I N G when he sleeps! That hasn't ever happened again, but it scared me, especially after seeing the scary movie and the fact that it was just a few minutes before midnight.
