GREAT film!!! One of my all-time favorites, and surely the best of Carpenter's many great films.
There's another very creepy film...similar theme in an urban setting...where a demonic being jumps from person to person with just a touch, as in brushing against someone on the street. Very, very creepy. I can't remember the name of that one. Anyone know which one I mean?
