"For to slay the 3rd part of men" - Sounds to me like it means the holy spirit. You know, Father/Son/Holy Sprit. Right?
I dont buy those other translations. They spoke in very symbolic ways in the original language the bible was written in. The english took it all literal and look how the church ended up. Good book on this is called "The Mystic Christ" by Ethan Walker. He points out in a very detailed way how the Bible is a good book... if you know how to read it.
