In many cases, antidepressants are prescribed due to the symptoms mudra listed at the beginning of this thread.
Chemicals issued by medical folks are intended to help one achieve balance of body and mind. Sadly, these drugs often seem to treat the symptoms while ignoring the causes. (as is the case with most drugs)
I personally feel that in order to achieve balance one must face the symptoms head on, rather than trying to mask them. I know...it's easy for me to say that...and many will disagree.
