Great Reply Tuza;
Here is our answer, gradually acclimate your pets to what you are eating, not just table scraps, and not to acclimate them totally to people food, but when they are around, and you are having a snack, outside, from the garden, give them some, and whether it's
animal, vegetable, or mineral, they will learn that it is food, Google "Mirror Cells", and that may be the mechanism that you can teach the pets to forage when necessary, when in the garden, we always snack and offer some to the pets, who are always strays or have been abandoned, our oldest Cat, was a feral Cat, and found a home with us, that one is very street wise, saw him in the yard with a Coyote 20 feet away, he stayed under cover stock still, downwind of the coyote and waited until the threat passed, he is 14 years old now, right now he is in front of the fireplace, snoozing.
