I think anyone who is an excellent public speaker will naturally have the ability to enthrall as those techniques which you site arent unnatural. I'm not convinced personally that it's as clear cut as some make out this us/elite dichotomy. I think they stab each other in the back plenty. In politics they used to (maybe still do) place magnets around rooms to make crowds more accepting to the message. They want to win. I'm sure McCain knows techniques but he's not as good a public speaker.

In fact McCain might be using hypnosis because when I listen to him talk I start to fall asleep...zzz....zzz....zzzz.
