yes u are right the army cannot intervine in civil unrest im not part of the regular army though im in the army national gaurd similiar but not exactly the same were authorized to intervene in civil unrest natural disasters and and outbreaks of pandemics that occur in our state that were were enlisted to serve for. we are everyday citizens except we go to training once a month to train for deployment to iraq /afganistan. we are hired through the state not the govt we train together and go to war with the active army but we have diff jobs. and to another persons question we do not hurt people we help people. this summer wen all the levees broke in my area we were sent out to repair them. im not saying if civil unrest broke out we wouldnt have to intervine but they train us to help and assist not hurt were all american citizens too an the last thing we would want to see is our fellow people suffering.
