Jakelee, there are many projects in production, and operating, using alternative energy. Many cities have resorted to wind power, San Francisco, Atlantic City, Buffalo, etc, etc. In Seville Spain they're are constructing the Tesla Grid, to be completed by 2013, which will provide free energy for the whole city. Our politicians who have large money making investments in OIL are keeping us from perfecting atlernative energy.
