Re: Regarding TV
Very cool to hear. I have a funny story about TV/Cable.
I dumped my cable TV early 2007 as I just didn't watch it enough, as well as when I did, it was a waste of time. One of the best decisions I ever made.
SO... last week... I get this call from my cable company:
(paraphased a bit)
--
Cable guy: "Good evening my fine friend, how are you this evening?"
J: "Hi there, alright and you?"
Cable guy: "Good thanks, so we see here that you are getting internet service with us...."
J: <interrupts> "I am sorry but can I just interrupt and ask what it is you need? I am busy at the moment."
Cable guy: "Why sure my feathered friend. We have a promotion for our high-defi..." (ok, I added 'feathered' for effect)
J: "Ah thanks. Sorry I am not interested."
Cable guy: "...sorry? but let me tell you the details..."
J: "I understand sir. I am not interested."
Cable guy: "... you get free cable for 30 days sir, are you really sure you don't want something for free?"
J: "Correct."
Cable guy: "Really? Free..."
J: "I disconnected my cable last year for a reason. It is a waste of time for me. Back then, now and in the future."
Cable guy: "You are not obliged to keep it you know."
J: "Ok i am sorry but I have to go. I am sure I do not want anything free that will just waste my time. Bye bye."

I think the guy went home that night watching some sitcom and just couldn't fathom how I couldn't be enjoying the same thing. Oh well.
...
On a total aside, hypocritically I do enjoy movies and well-done TV series on DVD. Heroes and the new Doctor Who speaks volumes for me. Not to mention the classic "The Prisoner" series of 67-68. Love to research the symbolism. Alright, take care everyone.
