01 The pseudo-science of the ancient world. The forerunner of the modern science of astronomy (sister/sibling). Man & woman has believed that the stars influence h/er destiny as long as s/he has been able to grasp that the heavens are the ‘Other’. The medieval gentry of England were obsessed by stargazing and the advantage it might give them against capricious Fortuna. Since Copernicus, of course, astrology has grown detached from astronomy and been officially discredited as mere superstition. Does it work?. Try it! Science and astronomy hold a certain animosity toward astrology. Many arguments have been put forward debunking astrology. The main one is the inability of astrology to be subjected to the scientific method. In the past astrology and astronomy went hand-in-glove in which the lights of the sky represented the anthropomorphized gods. Astronomy broke away from its enmeshment with astrology and religion and has paid an extremely high price for its separate existence and as a result protects its impartial pursuit of universal truths adamantly. At the present time astrology is viewed as a pseudo science. Most would agree that the symbol/glyph of our solar system would be the Christ (the anointed one) and Buddha (the awakened one) which represent an accurate model of a mastering of this system. Astrology is an art used by gifted people and opens the door to the predictive potential of the human mind. Human beings are largely the masters of their own fate who have an overmind that controls the life through the brain (Jung: collective unconscious). Astrology is the most enduring and popular belief about the universe. Some are of the opinion that the solar system is a cycle of experiences for the soul with the subconscious being the record of all the lives of the soul, in this world and other systems (reincarnation). Our job is to perfect our individuality and return to the Creator and become a full part of h/er creation. The 12 signs of the zodiac represent 12 patterns. This basic system runs throughout all the mystery religions of the past. Every 2,160 years a new sign of the zodiac holds sway. This sign moves backward (precession) every 2,160 years. Taurus the Bull held sway during the time of the Egyptians. Taurus ruled by reflection, so to speak (the overt sign). The real sign, Scorpio (180 degrees opposite), appeared on the heads and staffs of the religious leaders during this time. Virgo is opposite Pisces. Leo is opposite Aquarius. Alchemy and Astrology are related and make use of each other’s conceptual and symbolic systems.
