Default Wood Gas For All

During WWII, half of all engines in Europe were running on wood gas. Most engines can run at 80% power running on wood gas. Wood, coal, yard waste and most burnable garbage can be gasified. Wood gas powered the industrial revolution, it ran boilers, blast furnaces and steam engines. When wood is partially burned it produces a flammable gas that can be used to run engines. Filtering the gas can be a challenge but it can be done.
Wood gas is carbon neutral, renewable and burns cleaner than gasoline.
The wood burning in peoples homes for heat could power the home at the same time (same with natural gas and heating oil).
With a wood chipper and some yard debris you could be petroleum independent.
It is not as convenient as gasoline but you can burn it without sacrificing your freedom.
