Re: give me some intelectual ammo for convicing others
I can tell you, it is not easy. One wants to scream from the rooftops that something is not right, yet, who would listen? Who yell some obscenity and threaten to call the cops? Most would.
I tried, and failed, when I became aware, to convince others. I think my old man was like that too - all too willing to point out as ******** that which people don't have a problem shoving in thier mouths. I tend to think that when people say we are all connected, they are right. Because no matter who you talk to - the Hindus and Christians, the right or the left - they all feel it too. They all define it differently, of course, because they are trying to make it conform to how they define "reality." Awareness and awakening is very personal, and sometimes water-cooler disclosure is too much for one to take. I know this sounds lame, but its them, not you. As is true all over the world and right here on Avalon, intellectual arguments mean nothing when confronting belief.
I have no advice. Just don't think you are alone in your frustration in not being able to get people to talk about what they FEEL to be true.
